x-axis test fails. Movement on x-axis stutters
This has me stumped good. After reassembling the hotend part, my x-axis self test fails. I can feel stuttering during Manual movement on x-axis. This stuttering only happens when the hot end is 2-3 centimeters away from the x-end or 1 cm away from z-carriage.
I have tried various x tension settings. At low tension I can feel the belt jump, Increasing the tension to what feels right, removes the jumping sensation, but the stuttering remains.
The pulley in x-end is rotating, have tried adjusting its screw, and the other 2 screws to tighten the smooth rods. It seems to change the stuttering affect, but not too much. The wires of the heatend seem okay. Don't think they are being tugged.
There was also a small .5 mm - 1mm gap in x-end smooth rods, when viewed from inspection end. It won't go deeper. But I think this will only affect tension? Tension is definitely fine. I also had this issue earlier, but got resolved by tightening the pulley screw.
What could be the issue ? Could it be because of twisted x-end ? I have tried adjusting it, not sure if I got it right.. So tired to trying to fix it... Help please. Tried greasing and oiling.
RE: Solved. probably needed lubricant..
I disassembled. Reapplied lubricant to inside of x-axis bearings. and the x-axis passed. Strangely I think I still feel some resistance when moving manually :/ .
Still would appreciate any input, if someone has any suggestions. I have kind of lost trust with myself in figuring things out
X-Axis failing self test and leveling.
I'm having the same issues. One day it was working fine, then I got a failed print and the next time I tried to use the printer the x-axis is failing. I've tried the calibration, the self test even the heat-bed leveling. They all give me the same error. Have you had any luck?
It was probably re-greasing the bearing
It was probably re-greasing the bearing from inside that fixed it for me. I can't be sure though.
I'll give it a try.
I'll give that a shot and see if it makes a difference. But man, I feel like it's a little soon for that. I've got less than 100 hours on the thing!
