X axis alignment issue - Can only be hardware at this point?

Hi All,

Let me start by saying that I've had my Mini+ now for over a year and think its a great little machine. However, I've recently started to print rectangle parts which has caused me to notice a rather severe X-axis skew (see pictures).

I've read the official Prusa guide on squaring the mini nad have read almost countless articles on the internet describing how to address the issue but as far as I can work out, I seem to be the only one with a physical hardware issue; the 'trick' of using a set square to ensure both X axis smooth rods and parallel didn't work for me as the rods were pretty square to begin with.

I'm at wits end and have run out of ideas (in the image of the printer itself, you can see with the naked eye just how bad it is). I've tried resetting the Y axis gantry but that didn't work and if anything, made me realize that there must be something wrong with either the frame I have or the Prusa printed box that aligns to the aluminum extrusion.

Any ideas? Tip, you may have to click on the first image to see the entire gantry to get an idea of how bad it is
