Could it be a dodgy drive instead? How does a known good other USB stick perform?

I haven't ruled out the possibility that the drive is the problem. However the OEM drive works fine in my PC. I plan to try a different drive once I've finished with the current print jobs that are on the OEM drive.

I tried the one other drive I have readily available and it was a similar outcome, the mini was unable to detect it. I tried the OEM drive and instead of reinserting it, I tried restarting the printer and the drive was detected fairly quickly. I'll try one more drive (need to grab it from work later in the week) before contacting support.

After a print, when I remove the USB drive to add a gcode file and then insert back the USB drive in the mini, it is not recognized (No USB is shown). It happens few times. I have to reset the interface (orange button) and then the usb drive is detected. Hopefully, it is a software/driver issue that can be fixed.

Update: detection is improved with a new Flash Drive but it is not 100% resolved.

Same issue here. Received today my Mini 4.0.4 Marlin on-board but I cant flash the latest 4.0.5 FW and the Ethernet doesnt work either.

Any ideas?

I've reached out to Customer Support today. 

First tip was to try during booting-up to double-click the dial knob in order to force scanning of the USB devices.

Unfortunately same errors popped-up (USB drive can not be mounted). I've filmed it, uploaded it to the customer support chat, and they promised to send me a new motherboard.

Hopefully I'll get the new part fast.

now it also happens to me: USB is not detected.

I need to push the reset button every time if I want to start a new print.

Did you get a new motherboard, and is it working now?

Yes, I’ve received a new MB and all works fine now. Was a bit of pain to take all out, but hey, it works now.

PS. You may wanna try flash disks formatted by different OS’s as well, maybe it helps with the old MB.

Detecting inserted USB is somewhat not working after 4.0.5 upgrade, at least it never worked for me on this firmware. just re-set the printer, booting does not take very long. As for OEM USB stick, when I plug it to PC it does not get recognized maybe 2/5 times, and many times when I start copying files it disconnects.  I am just waiting for it to die 🙂

I had trouble with the USB stick supplied with my MINI - sometimes it was recognised, sometimes not. No problem in my laptop however.

So I just use another USB stick and it has never failed to be recognised. I think the USB stick supplied by Prusa is of dubious quality...

I used a new stick and was not recognized

I changed the volume name to PRUSA_MINI and put a file on it and it had no issues

I tried your approach to rename the stick, but it doesn't work.

I also tried different USB-sticks, formatted with different computers (win7, win10). Nothing helps.

Currently I need to reboot the Mini every time I want to start a print.
