M1 Mac + macOS Big Sur Support
Does anybody know if there are any plans to support macOS Big Sur running on the new M1 Macs?
I just ordered the Prusa i3 MKS3+ (super excited!) and then realized that I can't even run the software on my computer 🙁
RE: M1 Mac + macOS Big Sur Support
Update: I was able to download Pronterface (Printrun) v2.0.0rc8 here!
Looks like it runs fine, but it's not native ARM so it's running under Rosetta. Still, happy to see that it runs!
% file ~/Downloads/pronterface.app/Contents/MacOS/pronterface /Users/jpc/Downloads/pronterface.app/Contents/MacOS/pronterface: Mach-O 64-bit executable x86_64
Does it just communicate with the printer as an ordinary serial port, or do I need to install custom drivers?
Just use the Mac Version
Hi fender,
I'm using a M1 too. You can use the Mac version of Prusaslicer without any doubts. I use Octoprint to control my MK3S+. I never had to use Pronterface. Without Octoprint you still can export the gcode to the SD card and insert this into your printer.
Happy printing 🙂
wtf
Why is Pronterface even included if Prusa isn't willing to give us an updated version? All they're doing is using up our data (for those who have data caps on internet).
JUST REMOVE PRONTERFACE and people can download it themselves from github.
