I've Done it Now. My Mini+ is Dead.

Hello -

While I was manually removing some filament, I pressed down on the rear corner of the power box attached to my Mini. And now the thing is 100% dead. No power, no nothing. Here's what I have on my hands and what I've tried so far:

Prusa Mini+, less than a year old, no priors. Prusa buddy is 2021 12 1.0.7. I've moved the USB up to the interface where it should be, and installed wireless. Those haven't ever been an issue. I've printed a top to the existing power box with more ventilation with honeycombs, which hasn't ever been an issue.

Something I noticed was when I was pressing down on the power box area, I did hear/feel a small "crunch" which I believed at the time was the top just pushed in a little, as some tops to boxes like that will do if the pressure's just the right way. I fear I pressed down on top of something too hard. The only other thing I can think of was when I was plugging it back in I may have tried to install the power cord to the rear of the printer upside-down. I know 2 of the prongs are + and 2 are - as is the sleeve but I wear reading glasses and was hanging sort of upside down when I did this and couldn't see. 🥸

Before I make matters worse I'd like to see if anyone can help. I've probed around haplessly with a multimeter, checked the 7.5 fuse - it looks OK to me - I've turned it off and on and tried to reset and unplugged and replugged cords in ever combination I could think of. Al the easy stuff, in other words. Nothing.

I've learned in my case 90% of the problem rests with me. It's a user error or something I did, which is the case here. I unplugged every single thing and say there and looked at it and walked away. I plugged everything back in to try and diagnose again, and it started up. I don't know what it was. I checked connections, but not well enough I suppose.

Anyway, the mission is accomplished. Thanks to those who tried.

RE:

Does the power supply output a constant voltage of 24V?

Connecting in reverse is only possible with a lot of force.

Are the fuses on the Buddyboard ok?

wbr,

Karl
