is Prusa Mini+ Hotend fan specially OEM from Delta?
Hi All,
I am new to this forum. just received my new mini+ and happily printing out the Prusa base. when assembling I accidentally hit the Hotend fan and broken a fin, it still run and print but I am trying to find a replacement locally in Singapore.
I check on Prusa website and my actual fan on my Hotend the model is Delta AFB0405VHA-A 3 wired. But when I goes to Delta website, Mouser, Digi, Element 14 all the fan with this model number is 2 wired.
So I am very confuse now and would like to ask if anyone know whether Prusa OEM this fan from Delta that cannot be purchase from anywhere else? And anyone know of any similar or better fan replacement? if I change to other 3 wire fan with different spec must I redo Hotend PID tuning and how do I do it?
I know Prusa web store has the fan but I just trying to see if can find one locally or with cheaper shipping. I own a few printer and this is the first printer that I see using a "special" Hotend fan that cannot be find anywhere else other then Prusa webstore.
Is Prusa going the Ultimaker way and no longer open source anymore? I really eyeing the Prusa XL but I am very reluctant to buy more Prusa if its going the Ultimaker way... exactly why I leave the Ultimaker community and come to Prusa. Really disappointed if this happen.
regards,

The DELTA fan is working with reduced speed controlled by the firmware.
I replaced it with a NOCTUA and modified the firmware to get full speed. It's working now without problems.
However, if you use your own firmware, you have to prepare the board and will loose the warrenty.
