RE: How to change the coasting setting

I am too having under extrusion with Ecotough PLA 2.0. What worked for me was increasing extrusion multiplier to 1.1 which solved the gap problems. But now I'm seeing overextrusion on the top layer. I'm stuck at what to do now... I really want this to be my go to PLA filament as its got good reviews but not working great for me on my MK2S.

RE: How to change the coasting setting

I've been having some minor issues with the EcoTough PLA 2.0 as well.  The first layer seems to have gaps, especially between the external perimeters and the infill.  Top layers look great tho.

I've got my extrusion set to 1.02 which isn't as high, but I imagine that if I increase it, I'll have the same issue as well.

In contrast, using the EconoFil PETG comes out quite well (and significantly cheaper).  But I do want to use the EcoTough PLA on hydroponic related things.

Thanks for the info. I was mostly printing PETG lately, but I do have a new spool of EcoTough PLA 2.0 that is waiting for me :). I'll try these settings.

@kurvalak

Hi there, did you solve the problem? I seem to have some similar problem, but only when using some larger nozzle.

Are your gaps showing in the preview in Prusaslicer also?

RE: How to change the coasting setting

Hi,

came here because I had the same issue with printing PLA+ filament from FilamentPM on my Mini+ and found a way to mitigate it.

Even after adjusting the extrusion multiplier (using https://www.printables.com/de/model/110677-calibration-cube-wall-thickness-new-filament-extru ) I got these little holes at the z-seam position. Adding a filament override in the Filament Settings and reducing retraction length to 1.7mm solved it for me.  Value will of cause be different for your fialment/printer combination.

Another option would be setting a value like 1mm for "Extra lentth on restart" but reducing retraction worked better for me.
