Hot end short On Mini Plus
Mini Plus new model. Through my own stupidity I shorted out the two wires that come into the hot end while the power was on. The printer promptly went blank. I replaced both the fuses on the board and still no power. Any suggestions? Did I fry the board? Any help would be appreciated.
RE: Hot end short On Mini Plus
There are at least 4 wires coming to hotend. I guess your short cut the heater wires.
The heating is fed from extra 24V supply, the processor and other electronics from 5V.
You could destroy the 5V supply, the end transistor of the heater etc. . Without all voltage measuring is difficult to answer your question.

Thanks for your response Zoltan. It was the two larger gauge red wires. I do have a volt meter but have no idea where to even begin testing. Are all of those on the board? If so most likely I will need a new board as I don't have the skills to remove and add components on the board.

As most of them are SMD mounted without special soldering equipment and experience I would not recommend.
Just it is not sure whether the board or the power supplier is damaged.
When the supplier is plugged in does the blue led shine?
Were both fuses burned?

RE:
Both the fuses were good. The green light on the board lights up for a few seconds then went out and will not light back up. No blue light on the main external power supply that I can even find. No blue light anywhere.
