Filament Sensor activated, but not detecting when running out of filament

Hi there.

I'm using firmware 4.3.4 and recently the runout of filament was not detected. I was printing using octoprint. After a little research I found out that there was an issue with octoprint until firmware 4.3.1, but this should be fixed by now.

I double checked the printer settings and the filament sensor is activated. Also, the removal and insertion of a piece of filament into/from the filamentsensor is correctly indicated in the info menu.

Additionally when unloading/loading filament the filament sensor detects properly if a filament is inserted into the sensor or not.

Last test was printing directly from a USB stick on the printer itself. The print started an I have cut the filament just before the filament sensor. When the "end" of the filament ran through the sensor, the printer did not detect it and just kept printing......

Any hint what could be the issue?

Update:

- I re-flashed Firmware 4.3.4: no changes - printer still not detects when filament run out

- Factory Reset and initial setup wizard:  now printer detects if filament runs out!!

Conclusion: sometimes a factory reset helps solving odd problems.....
