Failure at hotend - heatbreak unscrewing?

Hi,

I love my mini, i have put 4-5 rolls of PLA through it in just a few months, its been a dream - ran perfect from the first print.  Recently i had a hotend blockage, no big deal a quick clean and nothing obviously wrong, but I keep getting the same failure 45min-1hr into a print.

(I thought it was the hot end so i ordered a new hotend/heatbreak - so i have two examples in photo)

As you can see in the photos it looks like the heatbreak is unscrewing slightly from the hot end, causing a gap between nozzle and heatbreak to fill with filament and form a plug.

My questions:

  • Is the heatbreak meant to be fully screwed into the hot end block?
  • How do i prevent it from unscrewing? A spacer or something?

Thanks in advance!!!

That looks like a clone. Who did you purchase the heat block from?

Thanks for the reply, yes, the new heatblock is a clone from trianglelab.

For clarity the issue was occuring exactly the same onthe original heatblock/heatbreak.

I see that you cant fully screw in the nozzle and heatbreak from each end, so im wondering if its the overall height of heatbreak + boden tube not compressing tight enough into the top brass fitting? Could this allow the filament to build up in that little plug?
