Failed spaghetti print y axis belt loose
Hi all
so first time printing in textured pei and woke up to a failed print (see below). Not sure how this happened will need to look into why it came off the bed later as the print looks ok up until it failed, however the y axis belt is really loose now.
I noticed the tensioner had also became really loose so tightened that back up at the front (see photo) however the belt is still the same.
The filament was all tangled under the bed and because it kept printing I’m thinking the belt has been stretched.
Any ideas on the size of the belt and where I could get a replacement fairly quickly based in the UK?
RE: Failed spaghetti print y axis belt loose
If you dissasemble part of the Y-axis (take off the belt tensioner and the front plate, slide off the bed) you can remove one end of the belt from the block on the bed and reinsert it one teeth further in. I needed to do this since I wasn't able to fully tighten the belt the way it was installed at the factory.

Thanks for the reply, it’s really loose so will probably need to be moved up quite a bit so I’ll give that a go first before looking for a new belt.

I’m now wondering if Octoprint can be used to monitor and stop the print if these types of failures occur.

I just finished building my Mini and I also have an extremely loose Y axis belt.
