Dark colored material drops from nozzle

Hello 🙂

Just to let you know that we are very very happy with our Prusa printers we have this one and only *Problem-Child*.

PETG, commonly used parameters.

Please take a look at the attached pictures.

Every approx. 2 hours the nozzle puts a *dark bubble* on the printing surface.

Sometimes it falls directly on the plate ( which would be very good) and sometimes it *rains* directly on the actual printing layer ( which is extremely bad).

If this bubble drops onto the actual printing layer next time the head goes over this area it will report a crash.

My questions are:

- Help

- Help

- Help

🙂

Many thanks in advance

Matt

RE: Dark colored material drops from nozzle

It is probably the material deposited on the nozzle. You should keep it as clean as possible to prevent drops of burnt material from falling on the print.. 😉

Pay particular attention to the diagrams at the bottom of this page:

Problem solved!

Thanks to Diem and his posted link I could find out that the desired gap between the nozzle and the heat block was not present.

Readjusting those two parts and recalibrating Z ( very important! ) made the system work again 🙂

Thanks !
