Changed to 0.6 nozzle, having issues - gaps in print, crackling noise.
I can't figure out why this is happening. Just changed to 0.6 hotend.
First time I did it, there was no gap between the nozzle and the heat block. So I adjusted the heatbreak down (loosened grip screws, and turned it more into the heat block), and now there is about a 1mm gap between the nozzle and the heat block.
Before and after the heatbreak adjustment, I get prints like the below. I hear a crackling noise as well while it's printing. First layer calibration is really bad, but I assume that's because it's hardcoded for a 0.4 nozzle.
Any help is appreciated!
RE: Changed to 0.6 nozzle, having issues - gaps in print, crackling noise.
you need to change the prusa slicer profile to a o.6mm profile at the same time as you change the nozzle.
Have you done this ?
Use the configuration Wizard
Select the 0.6mm nozzle profile,
then in Prusa Slicer, select the new profile
this will set up the nozzle size, the extrusion widths and the layer height options for the 0.6mm nozzle,
I don't have a Mini, but on My Prusa's there is an LCD Menu option to indicate the expected nozzle size...
I recently had a very similar issue because I forgot that I had put a 0.6mm nozzle in My MK3s (been using the Mk3.9 with MMU3 a lot, recently and my brain is getting old) if you try to use the 0.4mm nozzle slicer profile with the o.6mm nozzle, the slicer does not output sufficient filament to feed the nozzle's needs...
I hope this helps.
