RE: What makes gcode file printable on Prusa?
I hope that you are joking about replacing the G2 and G3 commands with G1! All of my files make liberal use of the arc commands and it appears that Prusa printers can print them. (See the thread on that topic here: https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/general-software-discussion/g2-and-g3-arcs-in-prusa).
RE: What makes gcode file printable on Prusa?
Not g2 only g3 commands and I'm not joking as that's what I can see I've changed start end and middle code so in thery changing g3 commands should do it

RE: What makes gcode file printable on Prusa?
Thanks for your efforts. Your result is both surprising and disappointing. Surprising because Marlin has supported G3 (and G2) from before it was first fully released (see here: https://marlinfw.org/docs/gcode/G002-G003.html) and disappointing because it seems to imply that I will have a major refactoring to get my many files to print once I get my MK4.
Given your result, I have dug a bit further in the Prusa information, and this page describes G2 and G3 support, but it only lists the 'IJ" form whereas the Marlin page that I had been referring to includes both the 'IJ' and 'R' forms. Most of my usage of G2 and G3 is the 'R' form. Seems to me that the Prusa version of Marlin is incomplete in a way that omits a core move command form.
When you refactored my code to get rid of G3, did you succeed in getting 'R' form G2 commands to work?
RE: What makes gcode file printable on Prusa?
I changed a few of the command and in doing that I got it to print a bit of the object

RE: What makes gcode file printable on Prusa?
Thank you, but I'm sure that I can 'fix' my files more easily than you. They are written by gcode generating code that I've written. Replacing arc commands with the IJ forms would involve a minor modification of my code.
RE: What makes gcode file printable on Prusa?
oh i thought that you got the files custom done by someone

RE: What makes gcode file printable on Prusa?
Nope, all custom made by me for me. You might find my few old blog posts on the topic interesting. See them here for an example: https://platypuspens.com/2021/09/22/why-not-make-a-fountain-pen-by-3d-printing/

RE: What makes gcode file printable on Prusa?
@michael-lew I had to run to work, so I couldn’t let my MINI run unknown gcode while I was gone and terminated the print manual, but does this look correct for the start of the gcode you provided? Ignoring the part sticking up, that was an artifact of cancelling the print manually.
This was printed with your gcode, unmodified, except for changing the start and end portions to match that of the MINI. I.e. it’s printing G3 commands with zero issues. More details later.
RE: What makes gcode file printable on Prusa?
Wow, that looks perfect. Thank you so much! You stopped the print just before the first threads.
I have a hypothesis that explains the mix of failures and success: a newish firmware version is necessary for success with my arc code. Is your firmware up to date?
I am now confident that I will be able to get my files to print. Thank you very much. Now I just have to finish waiting for my MK4 kit to be shipped...
RE:
I do have the latest firmware on my Mini. Without seeing the gcode that your buddy tried to print on his mini, I have no way of knowing if the firmware is the reason it failed or not. It's also possible something was missing in the start gcode that the mini requires regardless of the rest of the gcode contents?
I've attached the gcode that you supplied and I modified, which I printed in the previous post to completion. I also attached the simple flat square gcode that I made in PrusaSlicer and sliced for the mini. You should be able to see how I used the start/end gcode I got from that gcode and pasted your gcode into it, but if you have any questions, let me know.
Also, I too am waiting for my MK4 kit to be shipped. Supposed to be this week or next week...

RE: What makes gcode file printable on Prusa?
Looks perfect to me. Thanks you for doing all of that to test my gcode for me. I freally appreciate your help. (Now you have a section inner that will fit with a Jowo #6 nib unit and a buttress threaded body tube...)
