I know Fusion 360 is super popular but personally I avoid anything that relies on the cloud.

I use Design Spark which is free, as in free beer. I believe it's a customized version of Spaceclaim. They just added constraint based sketching.

Edit  Oops sorry, no mac version

Yea, I tend to avoid that too, but as the pickin's are really slim for the OS X side, I had no other suitable option...

I have moved to shapr3d for most of my 3d design work. Its for Mac and iPad, and while it is not as full featured as many other 3d modelling tools like Fusion, it is so fun to use.

Really like Shaper3D for mechanical designs.  Been dabbling with Forger for organic/mudbox designs.
