Pronterface questions
Hi all,
I do not (yet !!) own a Prusa printer, soon I hope!
I read about Pronterface, but was not able to run it.
Where is it located?? I did not find it neither in Prusa slicer menus or in the program directory.
Another question: can I drive a non Prusa printer with Pronterface? I'm using Repetier, bur do not find it very friendly.
Thanks for help.
Gerard.
RE: Pronterface questions
Pronterface is not Prusa software. It has nothing to do with Prusa which is why you can not find it in any of the menu's of Prusa Slicer. It is 3rd party software that can be used to connect to and send commands to devices serially (usually 3d printers but it is not limited to just those).

If it would have 'nothing to do with Prusa' then it would not be a part of the driver package https://help.prusa3d.com/article/pronterface-and-usb-cable_2222 - as we can see on the screenshot below, it is selected by default under Utilities.
See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.
RE: Pronterface questions
Its third party software bundled into the driver package. Its not Prusa's and they don't maintain it. You can download it independently. That's open source software for you. Please do some research.
