Not printing when send same file name from slicer to connect
It is a printer, not a file manager I think.
Then expect the printed object, not a "The file with this name is already present on the printer" text silently waiting somewhere on the Prusa Connect/Printer files tab.
It is confusing for beginners.
Possible solution:
Generate file name in slicer output options with _{timestamp} by default. I use this now.
Or solve the file name conflicts on the Prusa Connect side - preferences
with options:
1) keep this weird behavior
2) add an index or timestamp at the end of filename and send it to the printer (I prefer)
3) overwrite the file in the printer

Agree 100% with this. There should be a dialog box asking what to do but not just silently quit and not allow the upload and the subsequent print. I didn't realize the duplicate filename existed. Prusa Connect is okay - but it needs work.
RE: Not printing when send same file name from slicer to connect
Just ran into this issue as well. Not great. It isn't uncommon for me to reprint an object when I'm not happy with the initial results. I'll make a small slicer change that doesn't really change the total print time so the filename is the same. Just turned to my Mk4S confused why it wasn't printing, turns out it was just sitting stuck due to this issue.
RE: Not printing when send same file name from slicer to connect
it's extremely irritating behaviour, nobody in prusa prints anything, actually?

I do a lot of iterations that involve small tweaks. I run into this problem all the time. Any solution or option on how to handle this would be greatly appreciated.
You can add a timestamp to the "output filename options" under "output options" under the "print settings" tab. It has to be done for every print setting though. I usually use the prusa defaults. Not a great solution, but it is something if folks are desperate.
