This is the content of the file "wpa_supplicant.conf" on my Pi Zero 2 W running MotionEyeOS. The path may be different on your OS, but the filename should be the same. This same config has worked before when I was using a FRITZ!Box 6591 Cable and is working now together with a MikroTik HAP AX3 using WPA2/PSK and CCMP. You could experiment with different encryption parameters in the WiFi settings.

Hello Walter, I disabled PMF and also changed Wifi standard from WIFI7 to wifi 6 and tried 4 as well. Unfortunately none of this made my MK3Ss connect, they still remain in the list of "unsuccessful connection attempts". I will try tinkering more with the settings - there must be a way to solve this issue :)

Did you try to switch off "Protected Management Frames" in the security settings? Older devices cannot connect if this is on.

By now I went to everything and nothing worked. I'll now contact the router manufacturer and once I found a solution I will post it here :).

I have a Raspi Zero 2 W connected to my WiFi. It says 52 Mbit/s, that would be 802.11g, as 802.11b only goes up to 11 Mbit/s. It says "encryption key: off" in the output, but the network is encrypted with "WPA2/WPA3 PSK"

Can anyone tell me, whether the MK3's LAN uses the standard "WLAN 802.11b" only? That would be the only clue I can have, since this standard is not supported by my router. I'm running the Rasperry Pi Zero 2 W and on Rasperry's website they say its wlan supports "802.11 b/g/n". Am I correct in assuming that this is not the cause for my problem, since there also in "g and n"?

Thanks a lot - I'll do the steps. I also noticed it's not just wifi6, it actually is WIFI-7 that I have (which is crazy new). I'll try to lower that wifi standard in the 2.4 GHz only and see whether it helps as well. I will keep you updated - but many thanks for your input.

If you do not understand German, it basically says to check for an option "enhanced wifi compatibility for older devices", and to deactivate a feature called "PMF" (Protected Management Frames).

I splitted the SSIDs, but still no improvement. All MK3 are shown on the routers page as "non-successful connection attempts". The MK4 stays nicely connected. Strangely, when I switch to an open network, disabling the WPA2 password, the printers still can't connect. I also did a wifi-reset on one of the MK3's rasperry Pies, still no improvement. I'm getting a bit clueless on that matter. The router is very new, supports WIFI6 and just came on the market 2 months ago (Fritzbox 7690), so there probably are not many others (yet) who are facing the same problem.

true, 2.4GHz devices will connect only to the 2.4GHz network, but usually you want to avoid devices to jump between the networks, usually less devices per frequency range is better. Moreover usually connectivity depends on the signal strength and unfortunately if you have two networks with the same SSID name then usually 2.4GHz is with higher power levels (due to standard spec) which ends in more devices going to that network instead of sticking to 5GHz.
Switching depends both on the router and the client capabilities, and from my experience with both Fritzboxes and mikrotiks and some (really ugly) devices I strongly recommend different SSID names.
