I'm running the Rasperry Pi Zero 2 W and on Rasperry's website they say its wlan supports "802.11 b/g/n". Am I correct in assuming that this is not the cause for my problem, since there also in "g and n"?

The MK4 stays nicely connected. Strangely, when I switch to an open network, disabling the WPA2 password, the printers still can't connect. I also did a wifi-reset on one of the MK3's rasperry Pies, still no improvement. I'm getting a bit clueless on that matter. The router is very new, supports WIFI6 and just came on the market 2 months ago (Fritzbox 7690), so there probably are not many others (yet) who are facing the same problem.

Moreover usually connectivity depends on the signal strength and unfortunately if you have two networks with the same SSID name then usually 2.4GHz is with higher power levels (due to standard spec) which ends in more devices going to that network instead of sticking to 5GHz.
Switching depends both on the router and the client capabilities, and from my experience with both Fritzboxes and mikrotiks and some (really ugly) devices I strongly recommend different SSID names.
