RE: Where are the firmware updates?

I did put 4.0.2 in my Mini, but as expected, no help to my issues.

@texy

The very point I was trying to tease out without using a blunt instrument.

Having said that, lets use that blunt instrument anyway, if anyone can get acceptable results (several good looking examples posted) using firmware vers X, if you use that same firmware and cannot repeat those results, your problem is hardware.

Well, my particular Mini is headed back to Prusa to figure out why it won't work right.

Interesting. So people are now receiving printers with unreleased firmware.

4.0.2 has been available to download for days now. Only change is support for the new rotary encoder.

@asdf-tgz

Thanks, I am aware 4.02 has been there for some days. And yet Github clearly shows only one actual release and that is 4.01. That is all I was referring to.

4.0.2 is on the drivers page https://www.prusa3d.com/drivers/

Looking at all the changes noted into 4.0.2 on Github, versus the 4.0.2 on the download page which apparently only has the change for the different encoder, I believe there has been a mistake in naming. Based on the changes listed I believe the drivers page version should be more like 4.0.1a.

It is now 52 days since the last Mini firmware, excluding the hardware change version above... 🙁

and

Classic Jerk fix

During the merge of the latest Marlin code to our firmware, the “Junction Deviation” was enabled instead of “Classic Jerk”. This release fixes it by switching back to the “Classic Jerk”.

(From the v4.0.3 release notes)

Someone definitely needs to compare their Mini's movements before and after 4.03 when it's released to see if that's a noticeable difference... (I don't get mine til May or would do that myself)

RE: Where are the firmware updates?

On the 4.0.1 firmware the LAN port was enabled and it picked up an IP by DHCP. I could browse it and see an under construction page with the temperatures listed.

Just loaded the new 4.0.3-RC1 and the LAN port now appears disabled. It is now greyed out on the display. The new firmware does have a LAN info page though, which reports IP details etc.

Good to see an update at last even if it is mainly bug fixes.

Yup, get the bug fixes done, then work on the web interface.

Yeah I noticed the LAN port too, technically its not disabled, its still pulling an IP Address, the device isnt listing it, and you cannot access the web interface though sadly. Im hoping they at least put basic functionality on there pretty quick.

RE: Where are the firmware updates?

There was a bug reported, when firmware crashed after some time idling and connected to the network. It is possible it was disabled for that simple reason they don't want to deal with such issues.

I put 4.0.3 into my troubled Mini.

Changed some things, but my first layer troubles are still there just the same.

Haven't tried the RC1 yet, but hoped that bed level was fixed...
