@wurke-3d

Not sure I would call nto having injection molded parts bad luck.  The printed ones work fine on 3 of my 4 minis.  The fourth has infection molded but doe into function any differently.

Sure, the new part work just as good as the 3D-printed ones. But the finish and overall looks of the injection molded parts looks really chinesium dirt cheap. Unflat surfaces, uneven shive, bumps and.. well you get the drift.

But all that aside, you forget what Prusa is all about. Reprap. Open source. Replicability. The very definition of a Prusa is 3D-printed parts.  Injection molded parts makes the prusa look creality. And that is NOT a good thing. Injection molded part is blasphemous in a Prusa. They have indeed turned over to the dark side with this - and it saddens me 🙁

Sorry Prusa, but you are heading in the wrong direction with this. If you truly are going to invest in injection molding tools then do so for parts that doesn't matter. Like spool holders. But your printers should be holy. Don't mess with your origins. Stay true to who you are!

But at the same time it took 6 months+  to receive my first Prusa Mini and two month for the one I bought recently.  Id rather have the printer with IM parts than not at all.  As Joseph said the larger parts literally take days to print and that's why they've had to do this.  Prusa are just loosing sales to other manufacturers who have machines in stock and ready to go.  If you feel that strongly and want an all printed machine then you can still print the injection moulded parts and fit them yourself.

@wurke-3d

That is probably true.  I would rather have a printer than wait on one.

Nah.. don't agree. I'd rather wait a few more weeks to get proper 3D-printed parts on my machine.
But hey, thats just me 🙂

@loadinglevelone

I think it depends on what proper is.  Both part work equally well.

What the heck... I'll jump in here.

I have printed probably 25 custom brackets and assemblies for IoT projects for business. The printer has been solid. I don't really care what some of the parts are made of. I want it to work reliably, save me time, and allow me to quickly make custom designs that fit my specific needs. So far it is doing exactly that.

For me, I focus on delivering a solution to a client. I like the part where they pay me for the service. As I go to the bank to deposit the check I am not worried that the printer has parts that some might feel are inferior. The ROI has been great...so I'm happy.

Have a great day everyone!
