waves in vertical prints

I started having this issue with my prints.

It worked fine when using Prusament Galaxy Black. Switched to Prusament Orange started having issues.

I tried slicing with perimeter classic, when using arachne i started having this issue lower in the print. I thought switching to classic fixed the issue, but apparently not.

What can cause this issue?

Now I found out that the perimeter has separation.

No issues when using Prusament Galaxy Black.

Are you using the same filament profile for both filaments?

See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.

Yes, same file used to print.

Check for warping, you may have lost adhesion in one corner.

The part is stuck to the bed, no adhesion problems, no lifts. I has a chamfer.

Is the base flat? is it lifting the print sheet from the bed?

Localised wave distortion almost always means that the section has shortened, usually by thermal contraction and consequent warping so the correct amount of filament no longer has the correct amount of space to fit.

RE:

Nothing is lifting/lifted. The filament is brand new out of the box.

The waves are in the Y axis. If I peel off the external wall/perimeter it looks like the infill is not extruded, has missing sections, it is interrupted always at the same place. 1st prin was lower, 2nd print lower, 3rd print started the waves higher, 4th print the same place higher.

Could the filament be the problem? However no issues when printing with the Prusament Galaxy Black 😐

In the 2nd picture, the one from the top, the infill in in the corner next to the support is clearly interrupted. What can cause that?

Again that might be warping...

You said that errors recur in the same place - is this related to your seam position?

You might improve interlayer adhesion by raising the print temperature by about 5°C.

If it's Prusament PETG Orange for PPE (to print COVID19 masks) then it has more variable diameter, this may be an issue.
try bumping Print Settings > Advanced > Overlap to 20%, save it as new print setting, slice and see if it helps.

I ended up upgrading the original bearings for X and Y axis, and changed the long ptfe tube.

I lubed the bearings twice a year, but I think they got worn out. The Y axis bearing were starting to get loud on fast movement, and yes they were lubed.

In the end the problem is solved 🙂
