Just spoke with chat. May order is the first on the 14th and here is what she said:

Marina 11:31
Your order will be shipped between the 10th and 21st of February. Once the order is shipped, you will receive a tracking number by email

I think that confirms what I suspected, they have slipped out by a week or so, which to be fair is within the bounds mentioned in the shipping table last update. Shipping of orders from the 13th will continue through to next week, then start on the 14th after that.

The claim that Minis are shipped in order seems to be not completely true, if there are orders from the 12th outstanding, and one from the 20th Oct has been delivered. I guess 2 out of 1000's is not many, but still makes me wonder how their algorithm really works.

Shipping algorithm?   Aww. That's sweet that you think there's actual a rhyme or reason to the way they do things.

I don't need your patronising remarks. Please take them somewhere else.

RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread

Contacted customer support about my mini order. Even though I ordered early on the 14th, they at first said it should ship in a couple of weeks. I said that was rather not specific. They then came back and said it should ship by 20 February. I told him this was unacceptable. That is way too long to hold onto my money and finance their logistical chain.

So the earlier orders end up being guinea pigs for the shipping format and the details on the printer configuration. And the rest of us wait for five months. What this has taught me is that I will really hesitate before I order another Prusa printer. Which when it comes to the XL may be a good idea so they work out the bugs and I’ll just wait for when standard production and shipment prevails.

I understand the angst, but the fact is that Prusa has done this business model for at least 3-4 printer launches.  I would be surprised if they change.  Hopefully, they will, but regardless, people line up to buy them by the 1000s.  So, I take it that you canceled your order?

No, they’ve held onto my money for this long, what does canceling my order teach them?  I’m going to publicly point out their bad business practices and and pressure them to fix them.

Plus I was hoping that they were going to say it was going to ship in the next few days. The answer that they gave me blows way past the dates that they have published so far online.

my shipping also change from DHL to FedEx.

Good luck with that, I'm pretty sure they don't really care that much as the last few "Pre Order" product back order pre alpha beta releases have taught them is that people will still "pre order",

In other news, I'm told my MK3S will ship today (after missing Fridays deadline due to an "Inventory check" ..) and I have updated my self in the spreadsheet (although it prolly wont affect many people on here as I pre-ordered the beta printer in the released pre-order back-order of the 22/12/2019) 🙂

the kit should be great to build (even went for ultra fast delivery :O 24/48 hrs) so fingers crossed! First printer 😀

If I can build one, you can do it.  Just take your time and read the directions thoroughly.

I really don't think they care.  Their business practice works for them and the vast majority of users will continue to wait.

It should be today.  It cleared Customs in Cincy on Saturday and left Atlanta at 0435 today.

"I'm with you, just because this is a community Forum for Prusa users doesn't mean one shouldn't civilly express criticism for things that deserve criticism" By all mean, criticize as much as you like, start a "I Hate Prusa" facebook page if you want. To restate my original comment, it makes no sense to complain about something that you did of your own free will (except perhaps self awareness and that's best done in private, not in your out loud voice) and which you can readily undone by simply asking for your money back. Wouldn't it be great if all of lifes mistakes were so easily wound back?

RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread

OK so I was just about to cancel my order when chatting with support (was not expecting the wait to be this long), but they said that it should ship this week. My order was placed on Oct 14th (#42720), so that could be good news for some.

I really hope that this is it.. I ordered the printer to play with on my 6 month paternity leave starting November, but now its halfway through and still no printer. Would be really nice to play with this for at least a couple of months before going back to work 🙂

This is a statement I somewhat agree with.  I think everyone is a little letdown, but it was clear that this is a preorder to those that read the page when you ordered.

it was a backorder when I ordered aha but still advertised as a preorder, as for the statement in the one above yours, no it wouldn't be great because we wouldn't learn anything. the true trick to lifes mistakes is learning and adapting, what the problem looks to be is that some "companies" and "people" seem to not be doing that.

I feel sorry for the chat operatives, they have no information, like us are not being kept in the loop and have to deal with everyone on a daily basis.
