RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
I am praying we get them by XMAS. Since I can’t control where I am on the list or the production rates, prayer is all I have.

Jajajaja!
That is what prevents me from doing it to me.
Sorry for my poor English. I try to do my best.

Boy this X-Axis looks heavy with the extruder mounted to it.

Similar but agree that looks heavy.

agree. but bowdenfeed instead is possible, thera are many bowdenfeeder designs on thinkiverse. maybee moskito hotend, for lightwight.
there is a remix also for standart reprap 8 mm rod design, should be easyliy changable to the thicker 10 (or is it 12?) mm rods for standing axis
But teh most benefit of nowdays prusas isnt there: mes bed leveling, spring steel magnetic bed...
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
zesty nimble and get the best of both systems!
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
That's quite neat the zesty nimble: https://zesty.tech/
Normal people believe that if it ainât broke, donât fix it. Engineers believe that if it ainât broke, it doesnât have enough features yet.
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
That looks promising. I am not sure how well it would work on a Prusa.

RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
There are a few reviews out - ppl are using them on CoreXY machines. If it can keep up extruding on a fast CoreXY like the Railcore it should not be an issue on a slower machine like the funbot or even a prusa mini.
I was frankly perplexed when the mini was announced that prusa went the bowden route. The nimble is not a brand new product - maybe manufacturing a part like this is cost prohibitive for the pricepoint of the mini. Maybe someone will mod a mini...
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
The Zesty is a really interesting design - I backed their original Kickstarter. I've not seen anyone incorporate their approach into any printer design, only users applying them as after-market mods. I wonder if perhaps the cost is the issue? It certainly seems like a good idea, using a cable to let the extruder motor weight be separate from the direct drive gear.
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
I ask myselfe about the accuracy of the filament flow. I know such flex axis known for issues and they have a little bit of lag because of its flexiness
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
You think it is worse than bowden?
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
well, of course i dont know, but i think its worser with longer flex axis. thinking of how short the bowden tube on the mini is, it would be higly presumably that both systems are equal good/worse. so i dont think the printer would benefit. larger bowden constructions, maybe on a xyvore printer, would eventualy benefit.
guess the biggest benefit would be very soft flex materials. so the usage of such a expensive mod suffers only to people, who would print soft flex materials.
this is only my opinion and my imagination. just thinking out loud
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
FYI guys, I got notification from chat yesterday that the Mini is delayed and will not ship until the new year 😫
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
Wait... WHAT?
I still have Josef Prusa in my ear saying that they stocked up and promise to start shipping end of November...
