@kristoffertell

That requires lots of warehouses and would have ended the same way.  The would have had to stop and replace parts.

It's not like they'd need to stockpile millions of them. I reckon just a couple of thousand would have made a big difference and they certainly wouldn't have needed "lots of warehouses" for that. Going by the shipping box dimensions they state, I reckon you could fit about 1000 packaged Minis in a 5 x 5 m area.

And yes, in this case they would've had to delay it anyway to replace some parts, but that's really an unrelated problem (that they should've been able to avoid with proper testing).

I still get what people are saying that we shouldn't expect everything to be perfect because "the tech is new", "it's a small business", "PR are innovators", "it's a new product launch" etc and I agree to some extent. But those excuses are definitely getting less and less viable, as some of them are barely true anymore.

@kristoffertell

There is no comparison between the number of stock faults on the Mini compared with pretty much any other printer on the market. The Ender 3 being an example.

Hindsight is always 20/20 🙂

How much money do you think it costs PR to make 2000 Minis?

Those are all still true, as far as I can tell.

Obviously, PR made a prediction on how many Minis would be ordered, and they underestimated. Since there is little science for predicting these things, it can only ever be a "best estimate". Not being able to predict the future is not really a fair criticism of PR, since no else can do it.

I'm actually glad mine didn't ship early. I'm happy to be in the shipments after they fix the initial issues.

seems that prusa is doing somewhat because of all the broken printer during shipping. not shure just to say " your sticker is demaged, you should see that before take the package, so we will not pay you for broken parts"

RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread

At the company I worked, the most mechanical stress the products encountered was often during shipping. The packaged product was tested on a shaker table to simulate shipping, as well as the usual drop tests - it was called "the junk test" because often that was what came out!

We got a damages claim from an airline after one of our products "broke loose" and damaged the aircraft, so it wasn't just the customers finding a box of bits...

I don't think stickers on the box will help though, no one reads them.

I am extremely disappointed to discover that, without sending me an email or otherwise notifying me, my order for the Prusa Mini was cancelled. I only discovered it via my credit card statement receiving a refund.

Folks who are waiting, you might want to check to see if Prusa has decided to do the same thing to you. I'm really disappointed, and if I had known a month ago when they did it,  I might have had a chance to fix the problem.

Before you trash Prusa, contact support and find out why.

I don't think stickers on the box will help though, no one reads them.

I always assumed that such stickers were not there to ensure the products are correctly handled, but to allow for legal claims to recoup costs when they are flagrantly ignored.

Hurriedly checks order status.

Still pending, thank goodness! Inching closer to delivery...

@bobcousins

My order says payment accepted and invoice payment but doesn't mention "pending" anywhere, does it matter? The invoice says the payment went fine too.

I'm starting to worry...
