@milehigh3der

 I Have no idea how you did not know. The announcement was all over this forum within seconds.  I am one of the first 100 of so on the 13th.  I see orders shipping all around mine.  I am not happy but accept and understand the business model.

If it Bothers folks that much, cancel your order send Prusa a message.  If not, you have to accept the business model.  Their model is well documented on the internet.

I have a life, a job, a family- I don't live on Prusa.com on the off chance that a new printer will be announced.  That is crazy.

The problem I have is that there is a LACK of documentation.  The path this would take was known back in OCT, but the vision on what will happen is only now becoming clear, kind of.

Did they ship even a single order in the last 10 days? 42205 seems to be the last one since x-mas.

I'm wondering if they're looking into the various issues before shipping resumes…

A Friend of mine most probably is gonna receive the Mini on Thursday so I guess they resumed shipping last Wed

just cancel your order or live with it.

Thank you. And it would be great we would concentrate on the bright side of life. Or simply talk about the mini.

Just my two cents: if you order, there is a notification with the leadtime. Also the status will be "in backorder" and directly below is a link where you can see when your order will be shipped. So I really don't understand that trouble. You list yourself here as if you were lied to and cheated on, even though it has been clear since the start of your order when your order will be shipped (PRE-ORDER) . If it takes too long for you, delete your order and order somewhere else. It is simply not informative to argue here. The forum is a place to exchange information and to help each other. The forum is not a place to let GO your private frustration or to become offensive.

It’s better to give than to receive. Especially advice.

@padigree

It is not quite so simple, when i ordered on the 15th i was told by chat support, that first deliveries would take place end November and that i was slated for beginning to mid December. Then things started to skip and now after a month they are still handling orders from the 13th....

Add to that the virtual lack of communication and it is obvious why people are not happy.

Seriously guys. If you have any issues with your purchase, just talk to the online support. Complaining about your order here doesn't help anybody. We are not representative of Prusa Research.

True.  They have been transparent every time I contact them.

I apologize to everyone.  I let the complaining get under my skin.

My order number is in the 47,300 range. They got through about 1500 orders in the last month, which seems to me like even my order placed on October 18 won't ship for 3-4 months. Does that seem right? Trying to decide if I should cancel it or not and get a MK3s within 2 weeks instead. Its going to be my first FDM printer and while I'd like the mini since I don't have a lot of space in my room for a big printer, I also have a lot of projects I want to get started on.

What is annoying is that previously supplied dates have been moved out considerably. I ordered last day of October and was provisionally given a date range of  second/third week of February, now the shipping 'table' states "most orders will be shipped through January (October orders only) to April 2020", suggesting April now for my order. Well OK there have been 'massive orders', but orders placed after mine shouldn't push back MY delivery date 2 months!

I was in a very similar position (newbie, first printer), but i was lucky enough to order a Mini on the second day, so mine has been delivered and i have been printing for about a week.

I also thought about cancelling and getting a 3S

I have to say the Mini is great (contrary to some of the moaning on here by people with a Mini), i have learnt a fair amount already and continue to learn every day.

I can honestly say its well worth the wait and a great machine when it arrives.

Stick with it, you wont be disappointed

Sadly in a world of instant gratification, people melt down when they have to wait.  I'm happily waiting for my mini to arrive 😀

Historically, when Prusa changes your delivery date, it's at least partly because they're making improvements to the product and process, not just "busy". From the time of my original Mk3 order to delivery, I was upgraded at no cost with new parts at least twice.

@brutusboots

My problem is also that I am new to FDM printers so fidgeting with a brand new printer will be confusing since support will be limited and I won't know how to communicate problems clearly. I also am not sure I won't regret the smaller build volume. I already have an SLA printer with a small print volume, and part of my motivation to get an FDM is to make bigger prints. The Mini is bigger than my SLA printer, but will I regret not getting the even bigger 3S print volume? I don't know...

But yeah, its painful having ideas for 3D printing something, but I can't do it because I don't have the printer to do it, despite having spent nearly $500 on one over two months ago. Darn first world problems.

I think they will restart the shipping on Monday.  No idea why there is a lull.  I just hope it ends soon.

I would assume the lull is the holidays.  I'm still on my Christmas holiday as well 😮

I understand it as in January they will ship orders from October, and then February-March-April everything that follows. If yours was in October, I'd asdume it being shipped in January. But that's only my understanding of written text, and there may be other delays because of other reasons (i. e. QA or lessons learned from first mass batch).

I hope so. Mine was about two-thirds through October and there's still about 6 thousand orders between mine and the last Mini marked as shipped. I imagine most of those orders will be Minis. If I don't get mine by the end of January I expect there's a good chance the shipment will get stuck at customs while they make up rules for what to do with items that were fully taxed and paid for as a member of the EU but delivered across the new customs-inducing EU-UK border after the new government crashes us out...
