It's available as a replacement part in the shop. You can just order it later and install it.

Hi Kropexx,

I suspect there has been a holiday in Prague, so normal service is likely to resume later today, 27th December 2019.

regards Joan

Woop, Woop, Woop !!

Just got an email to say DPD will deliver my Mini today (ordered 13th Oct, shipped 20th Dec)

Have to say this forum has been fantastic, especially recently when others have been having various issues with their new Mini's

I certainly plan to do the following before turning mine on for the first time ...

1.  Check the tie wraps holding cables on X carridge (strain at extreme movements)

2.  Check Minda hight

3.  Check hot end grub screws are tight

4.  drop a little WD40 down the control knob shaft on the LCD unit

Any other suggestions guys ?

Thanks

WD40 doesn't play nice with a number of plastics, so think twice before using it in situations were it might spill beyond the metal.

I only tried WD40 because my control was completely seized and unusable. Even then I took care to mask off everything except the control shaft to prevent overspill of the lubricant. I would not use it on a new unit.

Fair play guys, wont use WD40, maybe some light oil 😉

@steve-4

The control should not need lube, I would definitely not use oil

UPDATE ......

Filament was in the box with the printer, great box design !!

Just as a reference for others, my Mini's build date was 17th Dec

It will be interesting to see if any of the issues others were having are also in mine (I read somewhere that a Mini with issues was built on the 4th Dec)

Did you refer to the BuddyBoard production date on the test receipt? If not, where do you read your build date?

No obvious transport deformations on the packaging and no obvious defects/breakages on its interior.

I have to correct myself. On actual assembly, I also noticed the broken frame as others did before. I don't mind, it is not a crucial part and the broken side is directly attached to the other parts of the printer (metal of the heatbed frame), so no further breakage is likely.

Production date on test slip under buddyboard

Thought this might be a suitable reference date, to see if there were any issues addressed as the units were made ?
