RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread

So we've got a PrusaSlicer update with Mini profile and specific material profiles, some Minis have been shipped and there is a update to the Filament sensor coming too.

Inspite of myself I'm getting excited...

Silly thing is I already have 2 x Mk3S, one of which I am in the process of moving into a Lack enclosure. So I have have plenty to do and to print and have the machines to do it. I actually do not yet have room for the Mini until I finish enclosing the Mk3S.

Don't care. Want my Mini now! 😊

Ikea shopping day (again) is also on my ToDo, never thought about a nice Ikea Besta enclosure. A while ago I bought tons of besta elements for my living room without thinking about using this as enclosure.. Hope to find something in "Kallax-Size" so this lil beauty could move into my office 😀

It’s better to give than to receive. Especially advice.

MINI does not fit into Kallax by few centimetrs, according to spec sheet 🙁 But then, it has 18x18 cm print area, that needs some space to fling back and forth.

Maybe October 2020 and IKEA announces Micrő in co-operation with Prusa Research - a small printer in a frame that fits exactly as an insert into Expedit/Kallax shelves 😆 Press material will read that Prusa was clear choice because of "uncompromised quality and both companies have common philosophy of 'assemble it yourself'". Buy 4x4 Kallax unit and stuff with 16 printers for home printing farm.

@crawlerin

Yes, every time I measure my kalax(es? :D) again, they are still too small. Found something out of massive wood with 46x46x46, but for 100+€ not the cheapest variant. That makes me laugh, because I got a new 4x4 kallax this weekend haha.

Have had a custom lack enclosure, but this thing does not fit that good on my new apartment. So my old anycubic will take a rest in it somewhere else 🤔

Hope to see some enclosures (maybe also really tiny ones) soon

A switch or jumper would do the same thing, but this way they can protect themselves against unjustified liability claims.

The only way this would piss me off is if doing that was required to get Wifi working. But there's no word on that yet.

If they supply an alternate official FW with Wifi support, I couldn't care less.

RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread

found informations in the build manual

the display has the part nr ldo-pr28lcd-a001

and is from a company named ldomotors. according to their website its very likely that the steppermotors prusa is using is from them. again, last part is only my personal guess.

tryed some reverse search but wasn't lucky. couldnt find a source to get hardware spares. but i guess trianglelab and fistec will not need more than a mounth to create rebuilds, especialy whenn CAD is slowly pushin on prusas github site

supplement: i think a standart nema 17 with a coupler and threaded rot does not fit on the mini design, if you want to build a clone one. because of the limited room this have to be a steppermotor with integrated threaded rod like on the actual mk3s

Let’s see how they will handle this on daily base. Many people adjusting the firmware just because it’s buggy and there is no easy way to put the fix in the main brunch.

Thanks for sharing. Unavoidable step for bigger companies. Let's hope the "Developer Program" will have nothing in common with Apple or MS developer program.
