RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
Not wishing to pile on (but I'm going to)
"So he used different hardware that couldn't run the proprietary firmware? Who would have thought."
Why the sarcastic surprise? The fact that different hardware needs different software should hardly come a bolt from the dark. Prusa firmware is not proprietary, compilable source is published (couldn't be open source if they didn't), something which Creality did only recently. Heck it's all Marlin anyway.
BTW Shock horror, Ender3 firmware won't run on a A10.
The problem is that it actually does work on other machines. My Frankenprusa or FrankenBearPrusa works quite well. Not as well as the original but decent.

@joantabb
I build a clone that runs the firmware. It does have a knock off extruder and hot-end. It uses an Einsy Board from Prusa. It works well, bt the specs are the same from the start.
Hi Charles,
If clone parts are good, there is no reason why they should not work in the environment they were designed for. or a similar environment.
My franken prusa has non prusa parts on it, including a completely over-speced power supply, it also has revised Z axis parts and bodged heatbed mounts because some of the mk3 heatbed mounting points dont match the mk2 y axis, but the overall setup is close enough to work with stock firmware from the mk3,
however if a revised setup fails, I dont expect to get free support off the original designer of what ever I am fiddling with, but there is no harm in requesting the combined minds on here for pointers if I am struggling... As long as I don't make a nuisance of myself! 🙂

So many trolls. Same thing on Mk3S release. Same group of people complaining about backorders.
it will come.

I just realized I'm doing the same thing with the Mini that I did with the Mk3. Wait until January after launch to order. Many bugs were worked out, and 3 month delay was frustrating but well worth it. History repeats. Not compulsively checking status updates twice daily helps. Spend the time reading and learning.

I have a heavily modified HEVO, actually running an R5 Prusa extruder on it with a BL Touch. Works great plus the Pretty print profiles work great. I call it my Prusa Core Xy.. Lol
BLV with a modded Z setup, and a Railcore II 300ZL. All are really good but the HEVO wins due to the price difference and ease of build. I am using a dual Z setup that auto trams.
My Craftbot3 was a struggle to get better quality, but I expected some of that due to how heavy the gantry is.

I've been accused of being a Prusa fanboy and of trolling Prusa. Guess I'm well rounded by now.
Whilst waiting for my Mk3 I quit checking the status page and updates hourly and just got busy with life. Email popped up unexpectedly and I was happy rather than exasperated. The little ones are entitled to hyperventilate about Santa coming. Adults should know the score. Relax and be delighted when to (not so) big black box shows up. The gummies need to age you know.

The black box is much better than the normal black boxes I deal with - Black Box Warnings from the FDA.

Nop. The latest update to the shipping table doesn't include a start date anymore.
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
Well, at least at jp twitter page is some movement. First time since a month tweets and retweets about mini prints. But also in the first retweeet they say "mini beta"...

So, this was posted in a Facebook group:
I'm trying to reach support for confirmation, but they seem to be quite busy. If that's the case I'm really reevaluating if I want to keep my order or look somewhere else. Not because of the delay, but because of the horrible communication.
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
I got ahold of support and they weren't able to provide any information other than the shipping table should soon be updated with the latest information.
However, before panic sets in, the following was also posted on the FB group:
