Good catch.  I ordered one.

I don't suppose you got the 10% discount for owning a Mk3?

Not directly, bought and built one for my dad’s birthday, though currently I use it more than him if I am at parent’s house. I want one for myself, it still feels a bit remote.

Can’t edit anymore, just wanted to add: my dad’s been dealing with injection molding plastics past 25 or so years (he owned a small company), has now retired and showed interest in additive manufacturing. I decided to get him one printer for his birthday so he could get into it. I was not expecting 3D printing grabbing me maybe more than him. I want my own as truly my own printer now 😕

On the way home he called me that he wants to give me this small one for Christmas because I showed him the reveal video as part of some unrelated conversation. I already had my order placed LOL 😀

No one is holding a gun to your hear and forcing your to buy a Prusa or pay ahead of time.  Feel free to wait a little longer.

Now that I know the definition of "fanboy": I think I see one. lol

When it arrives, please let us know. And, since you are aware Prusa has reliably underextimated delivery times product after product I do not want to see your name on any post related to a complaint or dissatisfaction Prusa is not shipping when they said they'd ship.

I have a MK3 that works quite well, and so far I don't envy MK3S owners, so I suspect I won't envy mini owners, either.

Sold another printer, 2 more on the market .. dropping down to just 1 big printer, and 2 of the MK3S.. Down from 8 printers .. Making room for next years models and the coming sales price cuts ..

Technology is changing so quickly, it just doesn't make sense to keep the year-old models anymore .. Reminds me of the heady-days of the rapid micro-processor upgrades ..

Prusa's new mini, already ordered, will be added to the mix and his new 400x400x400 CoreXY will be as well as soon as it is available..

I predict pain ,, and massive sale price cuts.. for a few 3D printer manufacturers, unwinding some out while they still have some intrinsic value

RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread

I personally think the Mini is a great idea to capture the market for those with more limited means than others while opening up the market for larger prints with the XL thats coming.

My wife and I are saving for a house deposit and this mini just ticks the boxes and while im happy to pay the $17 AUD (including postage) for a wifi addon card I agree with the comment @charles-h13 made, if it keeps the initial buy in lower than thats cool. I agree completely.

I wanted to buy Prusa because of the loyalty to the consumers. They support people via means of upgrade kits so your current setup isnt redundant it can be brought in line with newer models or close to in line. Their dedication to quality from what I can see is what makes them the choice for me.

Also if there are any moderators or admins reading this could we get edit permission for this part of the forum please?

Respect the fact everyone is entitled to have an opinion, you dont have to like it or hate it, just accept its theirs and not yours and you will be ok!

If having spent a year researching the competition and understanding their limitations leads me to recognizing a solid choice and opting to wait in line for it, the last thing I care about is the opinion of anybody who throws that term around. People pay a lot more and wait much longer for in-demand products that are hard to get. Prusa's got the formula for producing good products even if their business model isn't ideal and sometimes frustrating. Some things are just worth the wait. No regrets on waiting 4 months for my Mk3 and if I end up waiting for a Mini, I'll be glad I did.

CR10S-Pro,  Artillery Sidewinder X1 .. both printers are lightly used, but sit idle these days..

Like both, but have 3 large footprint and only need 1..

I do not have the artillery, but I would agree with the Creality CR-10S pro and ender being decent.  Definitely not MK3S quality but decent.

The CR10S-Pro is actually pretty good .. AM happy with the print quality and pretty much all the rest.. definitely not Prusa, but not bad ..The SW1 is pretty good as well, maybe not quite the print quality of the 10S-Pro, but not off by much. Happy with both, especially the price performance of the SW1.. Just do not really need 3 of them them anymore.. Whichever one is left from the 3, is fine with me..

I almost bought the parts to build a hyper cube to try to set it up to print and I wanted at add a magnetic build plate and steel sheet.  I am glad I waited to get the XL or Prusa Core XY.  I will keep my Predator and Creality CR-10S Pro also.  Decent print quality and value for the price.  I expect the XL to be about 1500-1800.  It the features are a step up, it will be worth it.
