RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
@clemens-m
Thank you Clemens. I haven't had an issue with that so far. I'll keep an eye on it though.

There was no order marked as shipped in our spreadsheet yesterday.
There were three orders marked directly as delivered.

Well, the good news is that it finished! 6 Days and 7 Minutes.
And overall it's an amazing print.
But I did find a couple of errors.
First is the UN logo which I've already fixed in the model.
Second is the inside of the base, which I've now modified to be more printable.
I'll post v2 up here on the Prusa site shortly.

@frankincell
Congrats on a successful print! I don't think I've heard of a longer one.
I probably wouldn't have done all the pieces at once, you're much braver than I!
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
Today is my birthday and I just received great news.
My order, from the 16th, has shipped today by FedEx and is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow.
Next day delivery - I'll believe it when I see it.

@stevensmith
Thank you, I agree, I wouldn't recommend doing all the pieces at once.
It was a good test of the Prusa Mini. The electronics, power supply, motors, belts, everything is very reliable.

Awesome!
The Roci is one of the first things I plan on printing after I get my printer.

Why not do a flat bottom base with a low infill %, rather than a hollow base? In my brief experience with MK3S, flat bottom with low infill % prints faster than hollow. You eliminate the inner perimeter wall that prints at slower speeds. Also, small infill between inner & outer wall requires more retractions & other non-extruding movements. You also get better bottom adhesion (but on this print you don't need it).
Whatever you find to do with your hands, do with all your might!
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
I had a problem problem with jet black prusament today. 3 prints ruined. The reason? The filament snapped in mid print. I didn't know why, but then I noticed. When feeding to the printer, the filament is touching the sides of the spool. The sides have "hooks" to hook she filament in. As the spool was rotating, once on was in the "right" position, the filament jumped in the hook making the rotation impossible. The printer then snapped the filament in the hook by trying to pull it. I talked with the support about the issue and they said they talked about the design already. I hope they will wimove those hooks ASAP. Very tricky design.

@hawwwran
Could you use some tape to block those hooks?
RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread
I ordered a Mini after comparing many different printers on YouTube. I shan't get it until after June but it gives me time to learn a modelling software program. I chose DesignSpark Mechanical because it seems more specific than the new Blender, but I downloaded that too out of curiosity.

I suppose so. I cut small pieces of the filament and placed them into those hooks. That worked.

That model is just straight up awesome. It has inspired me to watch the series by the way. I can't believe I haven't started until now. I'm on the last episode of season 1.

@burtronix
Good Point! I'll create a solid version and slice it to see what the difference in print time will be.
I'll try the same thing with the ship model. If it reduces print-time that would be great.
I'm so used to hollowing everything out on my resin prints that I just carried it back over to my FDM prints.

Thanks much. It's an excellent series.

I'm happy to report that although the shipping box resembled an extra on the Samsonite luggage adverts, the printer assembled and ran with out any apparent problems.
Test print of the big nut is in progress, because everyone needs a big blue nut 🙂

Finally got a minute to put the files up for v2. https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/24701-rocinante-v2
It's actually closer to v2.5 but I didn't want to wait for the print to finish before putting it up.
I re-created the base so it would be taller and not hide any of the lettering.
