RE: Unofficial Prusa Mini Wait Thread

There's an official article on the help page regarding the heatbed connection:

I promise, this is the last time I mention the heatbed. Now back to the wait thread 🤩

Thanks for linking. I've read the original reddit post (don't have a FB account, so cannot comment on that) and I've been wondering what the  guy wanted to prove by measuring resistance of the whole bed from both sides of the board. Plus, sticking multimeter probes in bolt heads gives him wildly flucutating readout, as I'd expect when sticking probe to uncleaned surface of a zinc-coated bolt.

One should measure resistance between the copper pad and the wire terminal/cable connector since bed's resistance is irrelevant here. Nicely shown in the linked article.

Got it.   Arrived a day late with no explanation from FedEx.

 Going to play hooky from work this afternoon to play with it. Easy to do when you have a home office. 🙂

@hawwwran

Is this an internally-generated spreadsheet? If so, I'm not seeing my order #344755 showing up anywhere near 15-10-2019...

It's not! It's a community document. Everyone puts in his order by himself 😉

Phew! Had me worried for a moment there. I'll add my entry this evening after work.  Thanks!

Got mine today!

Building was easy, really easy. Was expecting it much more complicated.

Struggled with the first layer, I changed it way to little per time. the in built layer test turn out ok-ish to soon. Ended up lowing it to around -0,7.

Now printing a benchy and looking real good but only 30% done, so fingers crossed.

Everything was in the box, feets etc. The only down side was the electronics box had a printing issue over the power plug hole. Looks like there was two layers of the print that did not stick.

But really positive experience so far, easy to pick up and start with.

Ok folks, only took me 30 minutes to assemble the Mini.

I am now ready to do firmware and calibration.

Will let you know how it goes 🙂

30 minutes? You guys are so fast ... I probably hold record of slowest MINI assembly. Mine took around 6 hours. Partially because of an unexpected New Year's Eve celebration but still.

First print was working perfectly but in the end of the chimney it failed. Do anyone have any idea what I can do to change it?

I am having a hard time with first layer live Z.

Can you guys tell me what what your live Z value is so I can at least have a starting point?

Thanks!

Check your X-axis to see if it's close to parallel with the build plate. I had to shim mine to work.

My Z setting is -0.902, but I couldn't get this to behave until I fixed that X axis.

@tischan

Make sure your belts are tight and that your fan has good air-flow.

That chimney melting looks like the print head wasn't moving right and / or there was no cooling.

@k9bub

My Z-offset from First Layer Calibration is was -0.850 when I first received it.  I thought that was crazy, but it appears to be common.

I swapped out my 0.4 mm nozzle with a 0.3 mm nozzle to get more detail out of some D&D miniatures I was printing and now my Z-offset is -0.750
