Note to devs: thank you for getting the bold on threads with unread posts back. A big step certainly for my forum use.

Now if we could get a 'go to last unread post in a thread' link that would be another big step and much appreciated!

It seems that all my subscriptions to topics are gone?

  • It's also not adding subscriptions automatically when you reply to a thread (you have to click the subscribe check box when posting).
  • I don't see a way (without replying) to subscribe to a thread.
  • I'm not getting notifications when someone quotes my posts.
  • And it sends an email to confirm you want to subscribe to a topic?
Hello gnat!
Thank you for subscribing.
This is an automated response.
We are glad to inform you that after confirmation you will get updates from - Welcome to our new forum! Feedback here!.
Please click on link below to complete this step.

Confirm my subscription

Any Prusa reply to this? I never see when there r replies to my posts.

Hmmm, how do I know if there will be an answer to this question? Not that there will be, but hypothetically speaking...

What do these icons actually mean?

I see them in my Subscription list: and honestly see no purpose since the meaning is essentially undefined.  I post something, the thread is Active. Someone else replies and the thread is Active. Someone replies six months ago and the thread is - yep - still Active.  Where is Not replied and Replied used in context?   In threads I am participating, I'd really like to know if someone has posted AFTER my last post.  A flag - or semaphore - that I can easily recognize that the conversation is ongoing and I need to respond.

And I am now being subscribed to threads when I post.  Probably the right way to go, as long as my post above is addressed so the flags being shown become useful trackers.

It's a start, but without the little notifications indicator on the site itself it means even more emails 🙄

It is a start though, so there is cause for hope.

I'm not receiving email notifications - I have them turned off.  They aren't useful because when I log in here there is no link to indicate what is or is not new. I'd have to go back to my email tool to track each thread... and that's pretty lame.

And can we get rid of the "How to login" banner yet? At the least remove it when one is already logged in?

Is there a way to make the "Subscribe to this topic" unchecked by default? I don't need/want to be subscribed to every post that I reply to and I don't see any settings where I can control the default setting. Did I just over look it some place?

If you Add Media and the forum decides to orient it different to what you have it on your PC, how do you remove said file from Media uploads, I've searched everywhere, everytime I try to fix the picture, another copy is added to the media folder which I cannot remove.

Normal people believe that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Engineers believe that if it ain’t broke, it doesn’t have enough features yet.

I seem to get 502 "Bad gateway" errors whenever I try to view a thread after logging in. I can view threads fine if I'm logged out on the forum.

I agree with this. To help avoid accidentally deleting a picture that was attached to a thread that one has forgotten about it, each media item should have either a simple indicator showing it is linked in at least one post, or links to all the posts that links to that media item. Adding onto this provide a way to "lock" media items and a purge button that will remove all media items that aren't linked or locked.

This would allow us to help Prusa clean up unused and unnecessary files on their hosting server.

Many have complained that they want to follow replies and the devs applied the default to satisfy a host of users.  I think it is part of their long term plan for getting flags in the "subscribed" and "activity" list.

Thanks for the info. Wish there was a way for individual users to set their default preference.

I'm still waiting for the default image post settings to change to LINKED TO MEDIA FILE ... I waste so much time going in to change the URL just to view what the user uploaded it's crazy.

Yeah, I reported that last Friday.  It seems it may be limited to Chrome, but it is a server issue across the whole PR website.  The hosting company is working to fix it.

I suspect they have nginx set up as a reverse proxy in front of their web servers (a good thing) and you're catching it during a reboot or other web server disruption. Nginx answers the phone, so to speak, but there's nobody to transfer the call to. No idea if they're big enough to have multiple web servers up, but I get the feeling they're in hot development mode and restarting or rebooting periodically. Hopefully fixing things.
