> Safety measures for filament load/unload
not loving this feature 😛
I mean when loading fails, I won't be able to do another "Load" straight afterwards, although I see the notes on improved load/unload procedures, so maybe this'll go smoother 🙂
nonetheless, overall great job!!
RE: New Firmware release candidate available (v4.1.0 RC1)
"acoustic signalization" surely theres a less clunky way to phrase that!
RE: New Firmware release candidate available (v4.1.0 RC1)
Nothing about the ability to save updated e-steps?
RE: New Firmware release candidate available (v4.1.0 RC1)
Thanks for the heads-up. Looking good so far, although I noticed that the z-level is constantly changing on the screen (when its still on one layer).

Ah - it has already been reported.... https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware-Buddy/issues/608

Just did the upgrade.. The "sound" needs some work... Did I imagine it, or didn't the Mini make nice little clicks and short beeps before?
Now all the beeps are long.. Lound and Once seem the same.. So I went for Silent and was surprised that whilst loading the filament I had a low gravelly beep.. What do they think the word "silent" means? Surely this should disable ALL sounds?
I don't want it silent.. But I wasn nice little quick beeps...... What was it like before? I can't remember now..

You're not alone having 'concerns' about the changes to the sound! https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware-Buddy/issues/603
RE: New Firmware release candidate available (v4.1.0 RC1)
Cheers... did i imagine it, or did rotating the wheel used to give a tiny little “click”?
RE: New Firmware release candidate available (v4.1.0 RC1)
That's a lot of improvements. Looking forward to better USB navigation and loading/unloading filament.
Disclaimer: Even though the printer is capable of resuming the print after the USB drive is disconnected, it is recommended to keep the drive plugged in throughout the entire print. Disconnecting the USB drive and rewriting or adjusting the printed file might lead to unpredictable results.
🧐 🤔😈 I can see this going some unpredictable ways ... on purpose.
RE: New Firmware release candidate available (v4.1.0 RC1)
I like the improvements, however, it is still not possible to get out of the Octoprint screen on a filament change in the middle of the print. Or am I missing something?

Not sure what you mean? Which octoprint screen - on your browser, the MINI, or the web interface?
RE: New Firmware release candidate available (v4.1.0 RC1)
The screen on the Mini (when connected to Octoprint, it shows the green octopus logo.)
RE: New Firmware release candidate available (v4.1.0 RC1)
The beeps are really annoying me.. Even set to Silent, I still get to long, loud beeps during loading... Prusa should look up the word "silent" in the dictionary... I know its an RC so can't blame them.. I just hope its fixed before the final release.
I was also disappointed that they havn't changed the "reprint" option after printing.. I want the default option to be "home".. I am much more likely to go to the home menu, than reprint.. WHen I come back to the printer after printing, I almost always kick of a reprint and it annoys me.
I raised an issue on GitHub and got the idea that this would be fixed.. But there is no change.

@jweaver
I support the "noise issue" on Github.
It's basically annoying.

I totally agree, Home should be the default option after print, not re-print. I can't remember ever doing a reprint, without first changing something in the slicer.
Have a look at my models on Printables.com 😉
RE: New Firmware release candidate available (v4.1.0 RC1)
For me, the subject of the annoying beeping is finished.
My solution is, I have glued a big sticky tape on the beeper. The beeper is easily accessible on the back of the control unit.
Now it is finally quiet. 😊 😊 😊
RE: New Firmware release candidate available (v4.1.0 RC1)
I’m new to this game, so maybe this is my lack of understanding - but my mini has crashed several times in the first couple of weeks of using it and when the system reboots the values for each axis seem to be way off. This has led to several heart stopping moments of the print head smashing into the end stops and grinding stepper motors. Worst of all has been me inadvertently moving the z axis and not realising the values were completely out - now I have an immaculate circular dent in the PEI sheet from the nozzle 👎
So, it would be good if the firmware could include a fix for this - e.g. on system reboot following a crash the user is made to perform auto home calibration to reset accurate values for each axis?
