Mini errors with red screen saying firmware not present on USB

Every time my Mini restarts, it boots to a red screen complaining about the lack of firmware on the USB stick.

I always assumed I had some files on it which made it behave this way, but I have looked and only have GCODE files

Does anyone know whats causing this? Could it have anything to do with the Wifi card that I installed years ago (and never managed to get working reliably) which I seem to remember had a different boot loader.

Its not a big deal as I just remove the USB stick and boot again.. But its always annoyed me and I would like to fix it.

Can you provide error message details?

Also if your wifi module does not work then remove it and see it if helps.

See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.

I don't honestly think the Wifi has anything to do with it.. It works.. But its unreliable, but I would like to keep it incase I don't have access to Ethernet.

The error I get only happens when the USB stick is connected:

When I get the error, I just have to remove the stick and power cycle.. So its just an annoyance..

Did you follow the url which is in the bottom of the screen?

Yep.. Looked at that.. And followed it.. But it seems to work, but then I stick another USB drive in (any) and I get the same issue at boot.

I do wonder if its got anything to do with the "alternative" method it talks about, as way back in 4.x when I installed my Wifi, I seem to recal I had to mess around with a different bootloader.. And I wonder if thats got anything to do with it.

Basically, even if I have an EMPTY USB stick connected at boot, I get the red screen error.

For what its worth, by boot loader version is 2.3.4.. Not sure if I can upgrade that or even need too?

I too have this issue, and have had it for some time now.

Im suspecting its a minor bug in the firmware and just sort of waiting for it to be cleared up, as its only a minor nuisance.

I have been able to fix this.. I contacted Prusa Support and they hadn't seen it before, but they suggested a Factory Reset using the option which resets the Firmware too.

I didn't think this would work.. But to my surprise, its now fine..

The Factory Reset was no major issue.. The only thing I would recommend is making a note of your Z heights for any beds you have as its a pain having to sit through the levelling process when you already know the value.

Would a factory reset clear the statistics? And/or need any bootloader/firmware re-updateing? Or wifi re certification?

Yes to all.. Unfortunatly.. As I just found when I did my first print since doing the reset and found I couldn't send anything to the printer.. It took me a while to find the "Physical Printer Settings" where I could reenter the API.

Its done now.. And all back to normal.. But stats are gone, which is unfortunate, but I guess not something I have looked at very often anyway.
