RE: how to clean hot end and nozzle?

I think it depends on, what filament is used and how dirty the block/nozzle is.

I replaced my nozzles with nickel coated ones from Microswiss and primary prints in PTEG - a warm up and a wipe with a paper towel is enough to keep the nozzle clean. I have no need to clean the heater block as it almost free of filament.

I think a clean with a soft brass brush when warm and IPA/Acetone when cold should do the job.

Have a look at my models on Printables.com 😉

When cleaning the nozzle and the heating block with a brass brush, you should make sure that you do not damage the thermistor and heating cartridge wires. As an alternative, you could also use various fine wooden sticks.

If PLA and PETG extrude cleanly and properly, cleaning should normally not be necessary.

If paper  towel is not enough to clean out, I will try soft brass brush as you suggest. Thank for warn me about thermostat wiring I will very carefully with it.  It not much dirty just some burn string make my nozzle look clog. Thank you 😄

A nozzle with coating, is a standard brass or copper nozzle with a thin layer of anti-stick nickel - just like a frying pan can have a Teflon layer to prevent the food sticking.

The ones I use is from Microswiss: Plated Wear Resistant Nozzle RepRap - M6 Thread 1.75mm (E3D has some too)

They reduce friction and make it a lot easier to clean the nozzle when printing with sticky filaments like PETG. I have never needed a brass brush to clean the nozzles - if something stick anyway I just heat up the nozzle to a little higher temperature and wipe it with a dry paper towel.
The harder layer also helps avoiding wear and oxidation.

IIRC you can add another printer profile with different nozzle diameters, there is profile for MINI 0.25 and MINI 0.6 nozzle size.
