Can't Ping the Ethernet port..
After installing and using Wifi for a few weeks, I have given up as its slow and in my environment I get constant connection failures
So I have just got hold of a switch and jigged my cabling around and connected the Ethernet for the first time in years.
My router assigns the same IP address I had when it was in use years ago and I thought I was good.. But I can't connect to "PrusaLink" and I can't even ping the address.
I have tried everything.. The Mini is clearly connected to the router, as if I 'reserve' an address, DHCP allocates this to the Mini.. But I can't ping the address.
I started to think that the switch was at fault, or even the cable.. So I have just done a test with a long ethernet cable directly to the router and its the same.
I am wondering if you need to disable (perhaps even remove) the Wifi module?
Does anyone have any idea why I can't connect? There must be something obvious??

RE: Can't Ping the Ethernet port..
I have a similar problem. I had Ethernet working before, after i installed the Wifi module, and it was unreliable, i switched back to using a cable. Bit it works for about 10 to 20 minutes, then I get timeouts.
BUT I figured out the ping problem! Opened wireshark and found that it was replying to the pings, but it had a bad checksum, that is why Windows dropped those packets. I think that is a problem in the driver/firmware of the MINI. I am running 4.4.1.

RE:
Looks like you are right.. I just changed the address on Slicer and was able to send a file to the printer.. And Prusalink appears to be working too..
As you say, it might just be "Ping" thats broken....
RE: Can't Ping the Ethernet port..
Tested and its all good.. I can now upload and connect.. But no ping.. Has this been reported to their GitHub?
RE:
That is really weird.. as most of TCP-IP routines are pretty open source.. But if you look at the post in the link.. there are some settings that need to be enabled when the firmware is either written or configured. Your packet trace would be the only way to fix this and great detective work!!.. Likely few use the Ethernet, and also likely the beta testers never pinged their target.. But makes you wonder what else might be misconfigured .. and causing poor performance. I don’t have mini so won’t report it.. but someone should report that the PING reply is zero and its configuration needs to be changed in firmware.. doubt that is a user configurable thingy..

Just reported it.. I didn't add any details, so its there if you want to update it
