Beginner question->
Hey guys!
I decided to buy my first 3D-printer. I'm going for the Prusa MINI+.
As I am about to order I find myself a couple of options.
Do I need a Filament sensor? (don't even know what that is)
And lastly do I need the 30$ upgraded Spring steel sheet or is it fine with the original?
Best
Nick
RE: Beginner question->
Hey Nick,
I started out with just the basic setup. I was printing with PLA and the projects that I worked on were small. After a year of printing, I add the filament sensor and additional sheets to accommodate the other types of filament I was using.

RE: Beginner question->
The filament sensor is optional. I went ahead and ordered it along with my kit.

RE: Beginner question->
I bough Mini with filament sensor. I knew what sensor is used for and I though "let printer be complete". But after several months, it's still in the drawer as I never used it. I think, filament sensor is only usable in case you mostly print big objects -in this case it can be hard to estimate if amount of filament on spool will suffice.
I would say, get an extra spool of filament instead, so you can practice. You can buy sensor anytime later, if it turns out you need it.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer!
Allrighty then I will order it without the filament sensor and with the standard Spring steel sheet. 👍
RE: Beginner question->
I forgot to mention in previous post... I think the best add-on for new Mini, is Textured print sheet. Having both (smooth and textured), you're ready to use any type of filament.

RE: Beginner question->
Oh okey. I will take that add-on as well. - thank you BogdanH!
RE: Beginner question->
Let me offer a slightly different version: the best add on is the satin sheet. I have replaced all my sheets with satin sheets and they print every material I throw at them with ease.
