It's M3 screws with 0.5 pitch. If you or anyone you know ever built a computer or bought computer parts, it's one of those "computer screws with fine thread". Usually used to mount 2.5'' disks or DVD ROMs. You need 4-6 mm long, but 6 may stick out a bit (it clears fine though).

@rick-m12   Excellent.  I got three extra grub screws in a small plastic bag with my mini, did they include extras with yours?

I was able to move the hotend up by 3 or 4 mm then retightened the grub screws. Then I reset the Minda height and recalibrated the first layer. That seems to have fixed the issue for now. Resliced mr test using all defaults for 0.2 SPEED and it’s printing now. First layer looks pretty good and best of all no under extrusion or slipping in the extruder. IMG_1092

Do you mind posting a picture that shows the distance of the top of the metal part to the fan? 

I'm experiencing the exact same issue as you describe here and Prusa Support guided me towards a guideline that says to maintain a 4.8mm distance between the top of the metal and the base of the fan, but that's exactly where mine is at the moment. Should I push it even higher?

I didn't measure anything - I just moved it up as far as it would go.

I had to do the same 2 days ago... Loosened the 3 screws, pushed it up as far as I could (guess it went in 2-3mm more than how I unboxed it), recalibrated the MINDA probe and redid the FL-calibration.

First print failed again, with the same underextrusion issue but since then it has been smooth sailing, even with non-Prusament PLA. Fingers crossed I guess!

I've got my fingers crossed Prusa will have the Mini more finely tuned by September when mine arrives.  That's also why I'm not complaining about the MMU that's been on back order for 6 weeks.  I hear it needs some TLC too and I don't mind waiting even longer if they're going to deliver a better product.

It's true the issues aren't as wide-spread as they are on the MMU2S, still any improvements are appreciated.  I've ordered the mini, but I'm considering giving it as a gift to my 16 year old nephew.  I don't really know if he's patient enough to work through problems.  I've got a few months to evaluate that situation.  If he's not up to it ... maybe next year kid lol.

The MMU isn’t exactly a new product - is there some miracle cure due in the works over the next few weeks?

I'm sure there's something in the works.  There isn't any special or hard to acquire component in the MMU, so why else would they be so backlogged they stopped taking orders?  It's mostly printed parts with some bearings and motors.  All the same general components they use for shipping all their other machines.  Right?  They're accepting orders for the Mini and those are backordered by 4 months.  I'm not Sherlock Holmes, but I smell an upgrade in the pipeline.

Simple reason may be that many components are ordered from China or Asia in general - and international shipping may now be a bit limited. Expensive (by plane) or very slow (by boats). My guess is, if they have certain amount of let's say LDO motors available, they'll allocate those to their core products like MK3S, MINI and SL1, rather than nice-to-have-but-not-absolutely-essential upgrades. Orders for MK3S have skyrocketed and they doubled their revenue in past 2 months. That's very demanding.

Nah I'm not buying it.  They wouldn't completely stop taking orders for something just because there's a limited number of motors.  Motors are MASS produced and if they can keep supplying motors for the MK3S which require 5 motors each, they can surely keep the lights on in the MMU line which only require 2 motors.  If it was just a parts on backorder thing they would still be taking orders, just like they're doing for the Mini.

And they're seeing a massive sales boost because everyone's getting their stimulus money.  There were more than a million new record labels started last month lol.

The huge demand boost is great.  Hopefully they'll set up a couple hundred Mini's in a new farm.  The fastest way to work out all the kinks is if Prusa starts to use the Mini in their farm.

You can not order the MMU2S right now.

That would be absolutely awesome. MINI is not bad, but has it's quirks.

Also gives an early insight into whats parts will be needed as spares.

Just starting my journey here to figure out my Mini issues. I've had the mini about 2 months now and I had to massively ramp up my temps. I'm getting great prints, but using either stock nozzle or .25mm, I'm running my prints in PLA at around 250c (even 230 seems too cold)! That's for both prusa and non prusa filament. That's the only way to stop skips. I'm getting amazing prints, but the temps are absolutely wrong or something.

Just in case anyone else runs into this post on this thread, I'll start trying out what was suggested here or elsewhere to try to figure it out.

Prusament here runs fine at stock temps (215/60) but the generic PLA I use needs a higher temperature than indicated on the filament.

I had an issue of severe underextrusion as indicated above, solved by moving the heatbreak up, but now my generic PLA skips some parts on the first layer. I guess it has something to do with FLC rather than an extrusion issue. For the rest, smooth sailing since ramming that heatbreak up :p
