First of all I have a clone - please kill me ... 😀 😀 😀
Second, I'm not a noob ! I'm the one who had find the solution and told you all how to rename the files to flash at the last upgrade of the firmware :)))
I have flashed the new firmware hoping it is a miracle.
I have downloaded the benchy and I have print-it 5-6 times (SUNLU PLA - sorry I don't have Prusa PLA)
RESULTS after installing the new firmware:

-The screen is continuously flashing

- The benchy it was a mess doesn't matter what settings I have tried.

- The HW menu for changing the steps/mm have ... dissapear.

- I have looked to the gcode of the "great 15 minutes benchy" and it is a mess !
The accelerations have the values so big as the Satan 2 Russian rocket is a little child 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
These are accelerations for the Core XY printers not the normal one's !!!
At the beginning a portion of the code it is repeating 5 or 6 times ... etc, etc, etc
Personally I don't believe somebody have print that benchy with a good quality in 15-16 minutes !!!

About the firmware !
I've take a look to the source code on Github.
OMG, it is something crazy !!
Is a combination between Marlin, Python, C+, Klipper, etc
I have never seen something more crazy !
The call of the function for the display does not include like in the older versions the FYSETC type, so all the one's who have clones will have the display flashing !!!
I don't dare to recompile the code because it is so tangled that after 2 hours of trying to understand what they done I renounced. Maybe I will try again ... maybe
In any case the new firmware has so many bugs and is a fail (my oppinion) as far as they will not modify !
Maybe @thisiskeyth will give a helpful hand !
Happy prtinting to all !

Just updated my Prusa Mini+ from 4.3.2 to 4.4.1 without any problem. Well done folks.

What I noticed are two changes that were introduced (I do not know in which revision), but they are:

1) when manually changing a filament, the order of operations require you pull the filament out, press ok in the display and then insert the new filament, otherwise, it will ask again to remove the filament (for example, I unloaded the old color and reload with the new color). This was not present in the older version.

2) The layer height is not displayed when using Octopring, instead I have now an gauge which is at 100% all the time. (center bottom banner). Can this be changed to the layer height as it was before?

Feature Request: What about displaying the layer number, this allows me to time when I need to come back to the MINI to change the filament, that is, by reading the layer number from the LCD, it can be useful to know what is the current layer being printed.. so it gives a hint when to come back and check again before a manual color change.

Greetings from the Galilee.

Update to my post above: after reading this post on Reddit, I decided to power down the printer and try reformatting the USB drive (which was the original one that came with my printer). I loaded both firmware files onto the freshly formatted drive and powered the printer back on. It got past the 'Verifying' step of the boot process and then hung up at 'Looking for BBF...'. No flipping back and forth to 'Updating bootloader' this time as I'd seen before.

I powered down again, swapped to a different USB drive loaded with the two firmware files, and this time it worked. My printer updated the bootloader, then apparently re-flashed the firmware as well (opposite order from the initial attempt), and is now happily printing again with the latest firmware. Bit more of an adventure than I intended on having this evening, but all's well that ends well I suppose.

I'm having a slightly different issue than the one described above and any advice would be much appreciated. I copied both 4.4.1 firmware files over to my USB drive, pressed the Reset button, and made it through the firmware flash process seemingly without issue. However, now the printer is just bouncing back and forth between 'Updating bootloader' and 'Looking for BBF...' (see attached). It's been doing this for about half an hour at this point and I don't want to reset for fear of doing (more?) damage.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or know what I can do to get around it?

Why can't these instructions just say, "There are two .bbf files in the folder. One is called "XXX" and the other is called "XXX". You need to put both of these files on a USB drive without putting them inside a folder. Then insert the USB drive, etc......." I'm fairly experienced with operating my 3D printers, but I have no idea what a bootloader is and what its function is in the firmware update process. My biggest frustration with the 3D printing community when searching for answers to a problem is the number of people who assume that because you're 3D printing means that you must be a programmer. Especially Prusa. I love Prusa. But they build printers that are user-friendly, with the broad intention of introducing newbies to 3D printing, so I feel that they have an even greater responsibility to just explain things in plain language. I just don't get why everything always has to be laid out in some esoteric terms that assume the reader is "in the know". When something is this simple to just explain in simple terms, there's no reason why people should have to go from Prusa's website to several other sites to look up what a bootloader is and whether both files need to be flashed together or one at a time. Sorry for the rant, I just thought that some of this article would be more at home in the depths of a GitHub repository.
