RE: 4.0.5 Firmware for Original Prusa MINI
I'm not sure I understand the logic behind this:
“When you start a remote print over OctoPrint, the printer becomes locked and a dialog is displayed on the screen. This is for safety reasons.”
What safety issues are there? I'm able to print via Octoprint on all my other printers and still have control over things at the printer. This includes my I3MK3. If octoprint is even connected to the Mini (even if it’s not printing) it is now locked. I can't start a print off the thumb drive if Octoprint is connected. This makes no sense! Prusa, please reconsider this approach!
RE: 4.0.5 Firmware for Original Prusa MINI
Can anybody confirm that the filament sensor works with 4.0.5? I intentionally ran out of filament during a print to test it, but it did not detect it.
RE: 4.0.5 Firmware for Original Prusa MINI
It always shows up as "NA" (I'm guessing not available?) in the web interface, even though I set it to ON in the settings on the printer.

Found the issue, one of the screws was too tight and prevented the little arm inside from moving. Now the sensor works as expected.

@matteo-cristini how did you hear about lan_settings.ini? Is there some docs out there? Thx for the hint!
I assume the lan_settings.ini is just a normal file on the usb stick - correct?
thx

Who else is having "Watchdog reset" issues? Happens all the time to me...

The "lan_settings.ini" file isn't normally found on the usb stick when you first get the printer. You can create it in these ways:
1- Go into the network settings on the printer, and then press "save configuration". This should create the file if it's missing.
2- Create a new file in your flash drive on your computer, rename it "lan_settings.ini", then open it with a text editor and paste this in:
[lan_ip4]
type=static
hostname=PrusaMINI
address=choose an address for the printer
mask=your subnet mask
gateway=your network's gateway address
This works if you want to give the printer a static address, which I highly suggest since it's so convenient (you access the web interface via its address, so it's easier if set as static)

Do you know if these settings are stored internally? Or does one need to have the lan_settings.ini file on the thumb drive at boot up? I ask because I use several thumb drives and need to know if I need the file on all of them. What does the mini do with the lan settings if no thumb drive is present?

There's a "Load LAN settings" option in the menu so my guess would be that the settings are stored internally, and the text file is used to modify them since it cannot be done directly on the printer.

RE: 4.0.5 Firmware for Original Prusa MINI
Had to go down to 4.0.4, I was not able to print anything, 1st layer was inconsistent etc. Will wait for 4.0.6
Is there some trick to downgrading back to 4.04? I put the 4.04 bbf file on a usb drive that has no other bbf files on it but when I restart the Mini it just fires up with 4.0.5. It doesn't give me an option to update the firmware. I even tried a factory reset but that doesn't help either. Right now my Mini is dead with 4.0.5. It just stops printing randomly with the control panel frozen.
Found the answer. I didn't realize that, in order to downgrade the firmware, you have to click the dial during the bootloader phase. Of course, since I ran a factory reset trying to fix this I have to run through the whole initial wizard again.
Same troubles, colour change trough remote OctoPrint doesn't work. I have to force downgrade.

Copy the bbf file to a usb drive. Make sure that's the only bbf file on the usb drive. If you have another one on there already and don't want to delete it, rename it by adding something like ".save" to the end of the file name. Plug the usb drive into the printer and either push the reset button or power the printer off and back on. When the first bootloader screen appears press the dial once. That should give you an option to load the firmware from the usb drive.
RE: 4.0.5 Firmware for Original Prusa MINI
I am getting an issue with the new firmware where the screen freezes during the MBL. The print still goes ahead fine, but the screen doesn't update. Did anyone else come across this issue?
RE: 4.0.5 Firmware for Original Prusa MINI
This update seems broken, got a few problems even after factory reset.
1.The firmware update menu does not work anymore.
2.have extrusion inconsistency issues (under and over), running a test if that´s still present.
Considering of going back to 4.04.
RE: 4.0.5 Firmware for Original Prusa MINI
Maybe stupid question: On which USB port do I connect my Raspberry Pi for Octoprint access?

The RaspberryPi is the host, the printer is the client device. So you need to use the micro USB port of the MINI.

@sbstnzmr
Maybe stating the obvious but you can use any USB port on the Pi.

If you Dobble click the button while it's booting up you get the option to flash / downgrade. Hope it helps.

I would like to second this. What possible safety reason could there be? I would like clarification on this. Right now it seems to just be pure anticosumer push to get people using PrusaConnect. Maybe it's an unaddressed bug but that should be clarified by Prusa
RE: 4.0.5 Firmware for Original Prusa MINI
I encountered some small glitch after upgrading to 4.0.5, but it happened to me only once so far and haven't been able to reproduce it yet: it finished print, I let it sit for maybe a day or two just idling, then I finally collected prints, cleaned plate and hit "Reprint". After hotend and bed reached desired temperatures, it began to probe ... but somehow "forgot" to home to its usual position, it did not move bed all the way back to start in front right corner. It kept probing only back of the plate, motors trying to push it to front but obviously it did not work as bed was already all the way to the front. It looked like as if it skipped line with Home command. I cancelled the print and reset machine, it printed fine, also reprint worked.
Has anyone experienced something like this?
