Raspberry PI camera V3 - wide angle or normal?

I purchased and tried the Buddy3D camera but was very disappointed with it, due to light requirements to ensure a clear colour image. Because of this, I have reinstalled my Raspberry PI with Raspberry camera OctoPrint setup.

I want to upgrade the camera to V3 and have been researching whether I am best to get the normal lens or the wide lens, for 3d printer camera setups.

Camera is mounted on the X axis.

Comments appreciated.

RE:

You can see a photo made from OctoPrint for the Camera Module V3 (non-wide) in the photo for this mod I made of a mount for the Original Prusa Enclosure.
The photo showing the MK4 was made with the Camera Module V3 (non-wide) and you can see where it was mounted in the enclosure. The wide Camera Module V3 has a much larger FoV, I think the non-wide is wide enough for my purposes.

Walter, having researched some more, I agree with you and think that the wide V3 camera is going to be unsuited to 3d printer monitoring. It is going to be far too wide and you would lose detail of the images / streams being captured.

This is an interesting article that compares standard and wide V3 cameras with some side by side images.

I've also noted at 120 degrees, the wide version is being noted as "ultra wide" by a lot of people, with the field of view being much wider than the average wide angle web cam etc.

You also need to use the OctoPi version with the "new camera stack" for the V3 camera module. The other one does not recognize it.
