I can't get 3mm acrylic sheets. Will 1/8" acrylic sheets work? I know it's a 0.175mm difference, but I'm not sure if that will keep it from fitting properly. I know there's a version of the printables that does 1/8" already, but I've already printed the default ones.

Where are you located? Plenty of online options for precut sheets.

But 1/8'' shouldn't be a problem.

California bay area. I saw that there were some kits on Amazon, but they involve all of the screws and things too.

Oh, I'm silly. I can just create a 1/8" thick plastic block and see if that'll fit into the slots.

https://www.printedsolid.com/products/v2-acrylic-sheets-for-prusa-lack-enclosure (where I bought mine)

And other sources a "lack v2 acrylic" google search pulls up.

Hello,

I am just finishing to setup my Ikea Lack Ultimate for MK4S.

I started from the original Ikea Lack project from PRUSA and I had to redesign all the parts to ensure that all the parts were much stronger and higher to fit the Nextruder at top Z layers without creating issues with filament.

Moreover I had to solve the issue of the bed cable, that in my opinion should fit in the box (even if it seems small) and have enough space to freely move without the need of any modification. All holes for the PTFE snap-on adapters have their own special non-standard thread and screw on like a charm. All the fumes are extracted and expelled with a tube to a hole in a window. It is not a hot chamber device, I will use the CORE ONE (once received) for that. The goal is to not inhale the fumes since I am very sensitive.

I found here (in Italy) a web vendor that sells Plexiglas and other materials, even with custom cuts and holes. With my surprise I saved the shipping expenses, becuase I discovere that it is few hundred meter from where I live....  😲  and so I went straight to collect the material.

Unfortunately even if I carefully planned the plexiglas panel size in the CAD when I ordered it, then in the real word my enclosure measures were few mm smaller and the plexiglas did not fit in the enclosure 🤬

So I had two solutions:
1) re-order a new set with the correct measures, or
2) Milling the plexiglas slabs with my Dremel.

I opted for option (2) and spent 3 hours to understand the setup of my milling area and cut them. This was my first time I used the Dremel milling tool on Plexiglas, and it worked surprisingly well. It would have been better to mill 2 mm less, but when I started I was sure the the Dremel would have crumbled the slabs so I was not too much maniac on the correct measures.

As soon as it is complete, I and I will have the time to review the work done, I will probably publish it on Printables.

Regards

I know this is an older thread, but for anyone like OP who is in the California Bay Area, TAP Plastics is a local retailer that specializes in acrylic.  They have several locations.
