5 Ghz Wifi mod/replacement chip?
I've got a 5 Ghz-only wifi network. The MK4S's wifi chip is 2.4 Ghz only. I'm wondering if maybe the chip is using some standard port and if there is perhaps a third party chip out there with 5 Ghz networking that I might be able to swap it out with. Anybody know?
RE: 5 Ghz Wifi mod/replacement chip?
I am not sure if there is a drop-in replacement chip for 5 Ghz. But you could use a travel router like the TP-Link TL-WR902AC (about 25 Euro). Then you can use an ethernet patch cable between the router and the printer and configure the printer like it was connected to ethernet.
RE: 5 Ghz Wifi mod/replacement chip?
Afaik, there is no ESP module 5ghz WiFi. They are internet for IoT, where reach is more important than speed. And it is same frequency as Bluetooth....
While back, I had a WiFi extender from TPlink, which has a LAN port. The extender suits in power socket, some have passthroug for the power. Similar solution to previous post.
