Printing the MK4S Upgrade pieces
I've ordered the upgrade kit for one of my MK3S+ to go to MK4S. I need to print the PETG parts that don't come in the kit but I've never had any luck printing PETG. It always comes out very stringy. Ideally I'd like to print the parts on my Prusa XL (2 tool) w/ .4 nozzle, but I could also run the parts on one of two MK3S+ w/ .6 nozzles. The downloadable parts say instructions are coming, but that doesn't do much good right now. The kit will arrive in a couple weeks so I'm not in a huge hurry. I'll put the filament in the dryer 24 hours in advance. All advise is appreciated.
RE: Printing the MK4S Upgrade pieces
It sounds like you're well-prepared for the upgrade, and drying the PETG for 24 hours is a great step to combat stringing! I'd recommend starting with a print temperature around 245°C and adjusting based on how stringy the filament gets. Lowering the print temperature slightly or increasing retraction settings might help reduce stringing even further. Since you're using the Prusa XL with a 0.4 mm nozzle, you'll get finer detail, but if stringing persists, the MK3S+ with the 0.6 mm nozzle might handle the PETG a bit better with thicker layers. Good luck with your prints!
