Filament issues?
So I had a MK4 that was printing pretty well overall. It was still pretty new but I did the MK4S upgrade on it. Now it prints like crap. The degree of crappiness depends on the filament. This site won't let me post more than one pic so I just have to describe it...
In the attacked pic, this is Ziro 3D brand "PLA Pro" that I've used many times in the past on my old MINI+ with the "Generic PLA" setting in PrusaSlicer. In fact, I've never tweaked any of the filament profiles and results have been acceptable more often than not.
What is causing the blobs? Another pic I took but can't post shows it doing okay except the left half inch of the print (first layer or two) is peeling up off the bed. That's usually a bed cleanliness problem I've found, but I've been cleaning the bed after every print, so I dunno.
With two brand new filaments (PLA) that were just opened, bed adhesion was fine and no blobs, but as the support layer finished up and the real object started being printed, the real object wasn't staying attached to the supports and was literally falling off (like if I printed it at night and so I wasn't watching). When I was watching, I'd see it ending the supports and then bits of printed filament were ending up on the print bed not attached to the print.
I got the same results with an older roll of matte black PLA that had also worked well before.
I put all my filament reels in a dryer that I tend to let run for at least an hour before using it, and it continues to for the entirety of the print. The stuff I print generally never takes more than 2-3 hours. These are usually RC car body panels or similar.
The simpler the object, the better the print. The more complex, like stuff needing supports, and it's a crap shoot if it'll come out.
So I guess it comes down to this... what can I adjust on the printer (or in the filament settings) to fix this? Or just, "what am I doing wrong?" 🙂
Thank you!

In time, whichever cleaning routine you use, you will get a build-up of insoluble residues so an occasional switch to a different cleaning solvent to clear them will often be enough to rejuvenate the sheet.
Check your dryer fans are clean and air is being exchanged properly. Driers need maintenance too.
Come back if problems persist.
Cheerio,
