Extreme stringing with established profile-HELP
Ok, so I am using the profile for Elegoo’s Rapid PETG, and print after print has the stringing shown in the pictures. I know the typical steps to fix, but nothing is working. Gray is the worst, but some exists with blue as well. White is not as bad, but present. Does anyone have any insight?

moisture?

I use Elegoo Rapid PETG and it works great for me. I use the stock profile, except that I double the retraction setting, from 0.7 to 1.4. But your pictures look like the filament needs to be dried.

Well, I will adjust the retraction and see what that does. I am all but certain moisture is not the issue, but I will respectfully visit that possibility as well.
Many thanks for taking the time to respond
RE: Extreme stringing with established profile-HELP
If a rigid filament like PETG needs as much as 1.4 mm of retraction to avoid stringing, then either the nozzle temperature is too high, or the filament has some moisture. The third possibility is being a weird filament with peculiar characteristics or just crappy stuff.
As a rule, I tend to avoid filaments advertised with fancy or innovative features. like Rapid PETG. Easy Nylon, Fast Flex and such. In my experience those are blends of several kind of filaments and the results are almost always disappointing.
