Dental Models/ Aligner Models

Hello,

I have a question regarding print of dental models and or aligner Models.

Are there any specifications or do I have to do it via "learning by doing"

Thank you in Advance

If you are really a medical doctor (orthodontist), as suggested by your user name, you probably don't want to inquire on a hobbyist forum. There are dedicated products and procedures for this, e.g. https://dental.phrozen3d.com/blogs/step-by-step-guides/a-step-by-step-guide-to-producing-thermoformed-clear-aligners-with-3d-printing.

Well, that's not the point.

I have DLP from Formlabs to sprintray but I like filament printers as well.

There are als Filament for medical cases.

I am not interested in Phrozen

Are you a medical person?

FDM is not used much for medical purposes as the interlayer interstices can host and protect bacteria although the melt temperatures mean that prints begin sterile.

For the majority of medical parts you will probably need to use soluble supports to print clean lower surfaces.

Most prints will be accurate enough for a secure fit against soft tissue but expect to have to take extra care with orthopaedic joints and it may need careful calibration to get an accurate bite.

The choice of polymer will, of course, depend on the application but this may mean that you will be using filaments for which standard presets are not available so expect to spend some time adjusting presets and calibrating.

Cheerio,

Hi, I don't want to put it in the mouth. Infant to use it as diagnostic models or models to work on like a technician.

I found some companies who sell medical filaments which look like plaster.

So I think this the right ones I can work with.

Best regards
