Advice on Transparent PLA (SUNLU)
Hi,
I am making a faceplate for a box that has foot switches, for controlling fx for my guitar. See the pic (you stomp on a foot switch and changes some of the effects).
My design idea is to use transparent PLA (I have a roll of SUNLU transparent); and to print (2D card stock with ink) labels that will (hopefully) "show thru" the faceplate. My current "old skewl" design approach is to tape printed (2D card stock with ink) labels on the box. See the pic.
QUESTION: Since the faceplate itself is maybe 5mm thick...... what are the best settings..... in my slicer, to get the most transparency that will allow me to see through the faceplate to the labels? My current settings have the infill pattern messing up the transparency.
Open to Thoughts
Thanks
AJ

But this application would be a suitable candidate for manual multicolour printing - one of the filament 'colours' could be transparent if you need to put LEDs behind to deal with varying stage-lighting.

Weird, I've just posted the exact same link on another thread
RE: Advice on Transparent PLA (SUNLU)
I think it will be almost impossible to get a transparent surface.
I would emboss the text directly into the cover and use a dark sharpy to paint it in another color, or make a filament change to another color at a certain layer.
I know there are ways to get a transparent result, but as far as I know it´s difficult to do.
