Waht is a good camera to stream the MKS 4 printing?

I am not printing not a home, for this reason I am looking for a camera observing the prints. It would be great if someone in the comunity can  give me some hints about convenient camera models.  - Thanks Ingolf

I must managed to get esp32cam running. But I don't use Prusa connect, I watch it through Home Assistant.

I also plan to connect it to filament monster detection.

The buddy cams that Prusa sell that integrate into PrusaConnect do not (currently) support streaming. (I'm not sure if that is a limitation of PrusaConnect or the camera's firmware.) They work more like timelapse (I forget the interval timing of the top of my head). If you already have internet connected cameras inside and/or outside your home, the easiest solution for you would be to get another camera of the family that you already use and dedicate it to your printer. That way it will show on what ever app you currently use to check your cameras when away from your house.

Personally, I use OctoPrint to drive my printer so any USB camera will work for me. But, I haven't put in the effort to make my OctoPrint accessible outside my home LAN so I can't check remotely.

I use a Reolink E1 Zoom (indoor security style camera), which has built in infra-red illumination (though it can be a bit of pain constantly switching on/off under certain light levels)

To have secure remote access to OctoPrint you can use PiVPN to set up a WireGuard server. No cloud involved, everything runs on your hardware. You need to install the WireGuard Client app on your mobile device and then when you are on the road you activate the client and you can access your OctoPrint just the same way as in your home network. You just need to forward one port in your router to the host where the WireGuard server is running (this could be on the Raspberry Pi with OctoPrint). Access is protected by strong cryptographic keys, only clients with the necessary key can connect. The setup of mobile clients can be done with simple QR codes, have a look at the docs. If you managed to set up OctoPrint, you can set up this as well. And did I mention that this does not involve some third party cloud service as many apps do that offer the same functionality? 🙂
