The download queue is too long
I have been using Prusa Connect happily for some time but now I cannot send anything to the printer as I get the message
"Error uploading to print host: HTTP 400: {"message": "The download queue is too long", "code": "DOWNLOAD_QUEUE_TOO_LONG"}"
What do I need to do to rectify this?
RE: The download queue is too long
I just started having this problem about a week ago as well. I've cleared queues, rebooted my Prusa XL and PC and the problem persists.
Bogus PrusaConnect error: download queue is too long
There is nothing in my download queue, yet the error persists.
I found the solution. The error is in the error message itself.
I went to PrusaConnect (within PrusaSlicer), opened up the print history, and deleted 5 or 6 print jobs that did not complete successfully.
Why did 6 small print jobs wedge my upload, and why was the error so unhelpful?
I'm an extremely pleased Josef Prusa fan of five years and thousands of excellent prints, but this shouldn't have been so hard to diagnose.
Cheers,
Tom
RE: The download queue is too long
I have just removed all mine failed prints - it didnt help. I still get the same error. 🤔
RE: The download queue is too long
It worked! Thanks!!
RE:
I was experiencing a similar issue in PrusaSlicer 2.9.3
I'm not really sure what the root cause is here, but here's how I fixed it:
- In PrusaSlicer navigate to: PrusaConnect->Dashboard
- I noticed that toward the bottom, under "Current transfers" there were many entries present with messages like "The file with this name is already present on the printer" or "Waiting for uploading to printer...". I clicked "Stopped Transfer" (and then confirmed "Delete transfer" for a bunch of these entries and that seemed to solve the problem
I don't know if this is related, but at some point I swapped my USB drive for a new one. I also removed all the files from the USB drive while troubleshooting. I also had a bunch of files that seemed to have the same name, probably because I'm lazy about saving out new projects for each transfer.
Solved: The download queue is too long
After a few hours of searching and experimenting, I finally solved this.
The problem is, the error description is wrong. It says "download queue too long", but the real problem is that your USB storage is full.
Also, there is nothing in PrusaConnect called a "download queue".
Also, the Prusa Connect tab in PrusaSlicer has no button to select all to allow easy deleting. For that matter, what is going on that these files keep accumulating?
Prusa support suggested that I delete my printer and add it again. That seems oddly drastic, there is no obvious way to do that, and I think we have all regretted deleting stuff because tech support said so.
So the simplest solution, for me, was to walk the USB back to me computer and delete all the gcode files. (Oddly, the drive is only 40% full.)
Perhaps Prusa will 1) add this to the knowledge base, 2) rename the error, 3) add a 'select all' to Prusa Connect, and 4) resolve the bug that accumulates these files in the first place.
PS: I still think Josef Průša is the patron saint of 3D printing.
Warmly, Tom

Yes, for me, deleting the gcode files from the USB drive solved it.
RE: The download queue is too long
add a 'select all' to Prusa Connect
PrusaLink doesn't have that, but on the 'Printer files' tab of Connect, there's an unlabeled checkbox above the list that should be labeled 'select all'. It does the desired. I'd like to have it in PrusaLink too.
I've been bitten by the too-full USB drive too. Since then removing files is part of regular maintenance after a print, along with cleaning the printer sheet.
